Watch Dogs 2

PC. I'm going solo on this. Tried those Unlawful disorder missions to get a follower boost. Unlocked the top level Gang calling skill and it's been a huge help. Those insane difficulty rated missions stay true to their name and this skill eased my woes with these missions.

Story - Mafia 3

Gameplay - Watch Dogs 2

Good luck!

+1 perfect answer :P

Since story is more important to me than gameplay so Mafia 3 comes out the winner.

Also is it true that watch dogs 2 runs better on pc than Mafia 3 in terms of optimization.

Yes, WD2 is much more polished game than Mafia 3.

I think you should get WD2 coz moment to moment gameplay is lot of fun and story is decent and characters are also interesting. Mafia 3 story is better but gameplay is very repetitive and boring. You have to complete lot of busy open world stuff to unlock big story moments.

You have to capture strongholds and complete bunch of side activities one by one to unlock bosses nd all.

WD 2 open world activities are more fun and short compared to WD1. I think you will enjoy WD2 more. Rest upto you.

WD2 is also cheaper on PC than Mafia 3.

finished the game and platinumed it. its mediocre game just like every other ubisoft open world title they have put in the last 5 odd years.

wasnt really a fan of the derpy characters and humor at the start but they growing on you. thankfully the humor never goes in juvenile territory like the saints row games. the

gameplay is pretty much same as watch dogs 1 but now with a drone and rc car and an expandable list of things you can hack. some of the missions were reaaly good though esp towards the end. one of my biggest problems is how basic the side quests in the game are. they put you in some excellent scenarios and almost all of it is abruptly ended without any sort of payoff.

buy it if you get it in a flush sale for 5-10$. you can get an easy platinum.

If one has to play only one game - either Watch Dogs 2 or Mafia 3 then which game is better? Please consider both story and gameplay.

I liked Mafia III a lot, I mean a LOT more than Watch_Dogs 2. In fact I left W_D 2 halfway though because I was so terribly bored. The game has no soul, it's extremely clinical. Mafia III might be repetitive but it has amazing gameplay, excellent driving mechanics and of course an amazing story with great cutscenes / dialog. Also the setting is fairly unique as is the soundtrack.

Then again, that's my opinion. Objectively speaking W_D2 has more to do compared to Mafia III.

So yeah, for story, hands down Mafia III.

For gameplay, see Mafia III has excellent gameplay, combat is very cool (think John Wick) and driving is always fun. However gameplay structure can get repetitive. The game basically forces you to take over each district by doing same-y activities to get to the ending. At the end of each district takeover is a story mission which is usually really good.

W_D2 has decent gameplay too but it's not as in your face action-y like Mafia. You'll spend more time controlling drones and hacking than shooting (which is usually a last resort). Driving is sh*t, slippy-slidey arcade-like, vehicles have no weight. It's also guilty of being repetitive but doesn't force most of these activities on you. Also there's a lot of variety compared to Mafia. Story is decent and missions can be fun. The writing however felt very juvenile to me. "We're these uber cool haxxors and we are the best" kind of thing. The story doesn't mesh well with the gameplay either, I mean you're this good guy hacker who wants to help folks and then the game lets you craft assault rifles and outright start murdering security guards if you wish.

Mafia 3 is way worse when it comes to game play, the whole game all you do is go to this place, kill x, go to this other place kill y, go back to the original place kill boss, assign location rinse and repeat times 100

Mafia III is universally criticized for dull and repetitive gameplay. People liked the story but not the open world gameplay part of it.

So you're saying a person cannot have an opinion?

I made it clear in my post that I personally found it enjoyable, especially in comparison to W_D2 which to me was dull and uninteresting. Or do you always have to conform to the "universal opinion"?

He always lets others influence his opinions first before making his own, and even if he does, he soon retracts basing on the general consensus. Must be well known by now I suppose!

True, but I'm just trying to help him realize there are games worth playing outside of the 85-95 metacritic circle. :)

Yeah, but it won't work.

As for Mafia 3, I loved the story and combat and spent 30+ hours on it completing side-quests, however it got too repetitive right before the end like many other open-world games...left it and never went back to it again. Same with Watch_Dogs 2 except I left it much earlier compared to my Mafia 3 playtime. I guess I am burned out on this genre. I'd still recommend WD2 over M3 if one wants to complete it within a week.

I have not played Mafia 3 but almost everyone who played the game was complaining about gameplay. Not just reviewers but also people who bought game day one. Everyone was saying that it's boring and repetitive as you have to complete these repetitive side missions for hours to unlock next big story missions nd all.

I asked few of my friends on Steam and they all said samething. Fantastic story and characters but dull and boring gameplay..

Pandu ji. Lagta hai aapney meri games list nahi dekhi. I have played and enjoyed lot of low 70 and 80s metacritic games. I don't trust reviews blindly. I watch gameplay videos and also read user impressions nd all.

I even defended f**king Order 1886 lol.

Almost Everyone hates QB, but I really like the game and will continue to defend it.
