Titanfall 2 game director on a slower-paced multiplayer

We started by addressing the fact that you move so fast. You can't shoot out of the air so easily. So we slowed things down just a touch. Then also thinking more in terms of having players more proactive decisions, so instead of reacting to everything, they're thinking more like, "This match and this mode, this map, etc." They go, what things in the loadout menu will best help me fulfill that purpose.

In terms of changes to the maps...

So we started thinking more in terms of simplifying the concept and using what the designers call a "window pane" effect, where we think in terms of lanes.

Defined paths become the norm: the left, the middle, the right. There's a greater simplification of the player's understanding of the environment, so that the environment becomes more predictable.

What are you doing Respawn ? Left, middle and right lanes is exactly how those damn cods maps are made :wallbash::wallbash:

Most competitive maps are based on simple topography, Counter-Strike is a prime example, Facing Worlds on UT. Someone playing Overwatch should also comment.

The idea was sound, obviously implementation needs a lot of work in this setting.

It's clear they are trying to restrict the chaos to a degree which would appeal to the masses. They don't f**king care about what made the first game special. Just dumb everything down and add meaningless customization and a campaign.

I LEGIT hope the game bombs hard in their face.

New crowd is going to buy and that should be enough for them to earn money.

But, the game will not be played for long that is for sure.

Looks like they are listening to the feedback.

Read above patch notes. They were trying out new things in beta coz that's what developers do in beta, they try new things and see what works and what not.

Chances of this getting better reviews than BF1 are higher. Single player campaign will definitely suck in BF1 just like BF3 and 4.

BF1 will beat it in sales but TF2 will get better reviews. TF 2 beta is also getting positive response from critics.

Not when your game is just 2 months away. Should have done a true MP beta like halo 5.

We don't know how big is the team and how old is the current beta build. Respawn guys are quite talented and they know how to make a good game. We should wait till final game is out and then pass final judgement.

Firstly what moron plays BF for the single player?

Secondly if BF beats it in sales then the reviews will mean sh*t.

Ask Waveking if you don't believe me. Yahan sabse zyaada usney khela TF1 and I saw him playing few weeks ago. tuney mushkil se ek week khela 360 version aur bakwaas kar raha hai. Lol

People came back to it once all DLC content was made free. Now whole game is free on EA access. Evolve also died few months after launch but now it's active again on PC.
