If it is anything like bf1,  then I'm not buying it. BF1 players count, bad map design, fuked up weapons and vehicle limitation killed that game. All battlefield vet crying about it and asking dice to stop making cod kinda games on official forums says it all.

Most of them moved to console. The population is now twice the size of PC. 30K peak compared to 60K peak.

Should've called it Battlefield 2, its not like EA is afraid of using old names for new games. Let the mainline BF games continue with modern setting.

Apparently, it was called Battlefield 2 but someone "updated" it with Battlefield V. The logo and BG looks quite modern for WW setting.

WW1 should be fine. The vehicles/weapons/maps etc are a lot closer to what a normal BF game should be.

BF1 was a f**k up. The player count should show that to EA. Hopefully they learn.

I bought it a couple of days back and the matchmaking is totally f0ked. It keeps placing me in empty servers. What might the issue be?

Welcome to the reason I gave up on the damn thing. After 2 weeks of empty servers I just uninstalled it.

I did get an operations match through server browser. Was quite fun, actually.

Matchmaking needs to be fixed though. I don't understand how it fails everytime considering the game sold more than 25 million copies.

I could get into matches via Quick Match but most of the time I'd enter while the operations was at the end game, and 99% on the losing team which had about 6-7 people lesser than the winning team. Or you could start a round in a team with 6 people on one side and 12 people on the other. I enjoyed it for the first 3-4 months but then the matchmaking became real sh*t. Sometimes I'd sit staring at the empty lobby screen, one or two other would show up, then one would leave, someone else would join, then everyone would leave.

Sold copies rarely determine the actual number of in-game players. And that is the problem with a majority of the AAA market.

There is only so much time I have on hand and only so many GaaS /multi-player centric titles I can handle and if I can find one that is free and cheap and gets me the dopamine hits I want for the day, why pay for a sub-standard experience.

And all this is before EA basically killed any community participation incentives for the game (franchise?).
