I really dislike that cell-shaded artstyle in these modern DB games. Why don't they go back to DBZ: BT's artstyle. Even on the PS2, it looked excellent and much closer to the actual anime

I'd like something like this. Current-gen hardware can make it look even better. I'm not sure what this style is called.

Except DB Legends, GT Final Bout, Budokai 1 and Raging Blast 1, all DB games on PlayStation/Xbox have been cell shaded. So I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm not sure what that older style is called..

But I prefer this

Rather than the one in the OP.

I prefer the anime artstyle as well, they have a good thing going with Dragon ball super anime, i hoped that style transitioned into games, with all the shiny stuff in the game they are missing the gameplay that got us hooked on the budokai tenkaichi games, not saying xenoverse isn't good but i want to feel the engrossment with the game.

Exactly. To be honest, I'd buy DBZ: BT2/3 immediately if they remaster it for current gen platforms. Looking forward to this game too though.

what ? That looks like the same cel shaded style.

Only one that was kinda different was original Budokai 1

^^ Maybe it's just a matter of colour composition and other things and not rendering techniques, but old BT games certainly look different than these Xenoverse style Cell-shaded games.

Actually, DBZ: Raging Blast is similar to the old BT games, and they look awesome. I'd like something like this..

I can easily see this difference, even if both of these are indeed cell-shaded.

I think you are just talking about the shadows. The older ones have a simplistic uniform single color.

Which I guess is more similar to the Anime itself

However Xenoverse is trying to make its artstyle more modern.

Yeah, I think that's the difference. I want DBZ games to look more like the original anime. BT games looked really good.
