wats in-game XMB.like pressin ps button wile playin game or what?n wats

Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seamless in-game experience.

"Theme settings" options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.

i also wish for mkv support.

Thats something interesting, how do you manage to download demos on your home PS3 sitting at home with a slow connection via a office proxy network ?

nooooooooo..........thats not what i meant (infact thats impossible, as the speed that you will get will always be equal or lower than your Internet Connection speed)! what I do is, using the PS3PROXY i get the link for the demo and use that link to download it on my office computer. From there i carry the downloaded pkg file in a USB storage device, and then install it on the PS3 at home :-). However, post V2.40, it only works with the downloads available on PSN, as you need to start the download form there first, then pause it, and finally resume it with the downloaded .pkg file stored on your PC.

Its a pretty neat trick as it saves a lot of time (and not to mention the electricity bill, since PS3 is a power hungry monster :) ). Infact, its one of the members of GI (F@tm@n) who helped me with it (thanks F@tm@n!!!!)!!

Can you do a small guide for downloading PSN stuff to your PC? Please :scratchchin:

Seems like he is correct, I googled something here.

Though I think its too much of a trouble using the trick.

EDIT: Somehow my posted links seems to disappear thus the above link is broken, but you can google for PS3PROXY and it will show up.

+1, Complete guide, as to how would we then resume download on the PS3 with the file on the USB drive.

Oki, here are the steps:

1- First download the PS3PROXY software on your PC (you can get it from http://www.ps3news.com/forums/downloads.ph...le&id=3673)

2) Install it on your PC (you would need to install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1, as it doesnt work with the higher versions of .NET Framework)

3) Now make sure the app is running in PS3 Mode by clicking the appropriate radio button.

4) You will now need to enter your computers local IP address into the designated text box. This will usually be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 if you do not have any other computers running on your network, otherwise check in your router settings or just go by process of elimination (try changing the third digit for a 1 or a 0 or try to keep adding on 1 to the last digit ie 192.168.0.2 etc.) You will know if its the wrong IP because the app will give you an error along the lines of "Unhandled Exception" when the start button is clicked

5) Most likely you will just need to leave the port (or prot as may be the case) field as 8080, unless you have specific settings blocking that port.

6) Now move to your PS3, and configure its network settings to use the proxy your created above (when setting up the network config in PS3, it asks if you wanna use a proxy....choose YES and provide the 'ipaddress and port' that you entered in step 4 & 5

7) If everything goes correctly, you will now be able to use internet on your PS3 through this proxy

8) Now, Enter to the PSN Store, and browse until you find the demo that you want to install and start the download

9) Choose 'Download in background' quickly (its important to do this quick)

10) Now go to the download manager and pause this download

11) Open the PS3.Proxy.Server.GUI and go to the Logs tab

12 You will see the download URL for the demo you just paused

13) Download the demo on your PC using the URL, you will get a .pkg file

14) Now move back to the PS3Proxy logs tab

15) Right click to copy the URL of the game

16) Go to the Replace Files tab, press the Add button

17) Paste the link you copied in the step 15 in the left field

18) Select the small button in the right field and browse for the downloaded PKG file

19) Now on the Download manager on your PS3, resume the paused download (if you check on the Logs Tab now, you will see that its actually pointing to the .pkg file on your PC)

20) Wait until it downloads and then you install the demo

DONE!!!!!
