I want to know how it works the other way - U have to download the relevant update file from the download links .. - Make a folder PS3/UPDATE (important) on ur pen drive and dump the update file only in this location - Plug in ur pen drive in the ps3 and it select update via storage media. it will locate the update file on ur pendrive. Just downloading a security patch for me is waste.. as I have no idea what's so ever to jailbreak mine.. But still I am forced to d/l.. Atleast give me something.. even a new avatar would do lol.. come on sony! Well I updated mine.. no probs.. It's running smooth.. also updating via pendrive.. make sure your pen drive is formatted as fat32.. If it is formatted with NTFS PS3 won't detect it..
