Heaven Angel
Lol I'm a darrpokh. I'm still inching thru Evil Within. I like horror but can't play more than 15-20 mins without sh*ting my pants. Moi too! Even more
WhiteWolf
Noticeable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRzw5N3SPIc Noticeable only when you're comparing and analysing every short side by side. Game looks mediocre on all platforms as far as graphics are concerned but frame rate is 60 which is good.
Tyler
Geeky Pundit? Your new YT channel? Nice Yep, I'm planning to do more voiced content once I have a few things set up. Let's see how that goes. Also need better internet... Lol I'm a darrpokh. I'm still inching thru Evil Within. I like horror but can't play more than 15-20 mins without sh*ting my pants. I must say the game is terrifying at times. Especially the first hour or so. The developers definitely enjoyed the EVIL DEAD remake, certain scenes and the gore is very reminiscent of that. Hell, they even named one of the main characters Mia.

You'll definitely see difference if you play on a huge monitor or TV.. It'll look better on a console like PS4 pro.
WhiteWolf
Lighting effects are good but textures nd all are very low resolution on PS4 and Xbone. But atleast it's 60 fps. PT looked better. Edited January 25, 2017 by WhiteWolf
Tyler
I'm happy with the visuals, it looks realistic enough for me. They've got the whole grimy, dark feel down perfectly. On the PC I had some issues with shimmering/aliasing around textures while I was using SMAA (you can see that effect in the first two videos I posted). I later switched to FXAA+TAA and set the resolution scaling to 1.5 and that got rid of the jaggies. I might turn down the res scaling though as my 1070 can't hold a locked 60 with that and everything else also maxed. Overall the game looks very good and atmospheric and runs well. WhiteWolf
Do you want all future RE games to be first person with all new characters?
hope
lol what 6.5 hours really? Don't think that's true. Must be a Speedrun.
Tyler
I'm definitely enjoying the first person aspect and I'm glad to have a different more contained setting with none of the series' baggage. So yeah I'd definitely want to see more RE games in this style. It's a little early to comment though and I've only played for about 90 minutes. But so far this is a lot more interesting than RE5 or RE6 when it comes to story and setting. I really want to know more about what the hell is going on. The best thing for Capcom would be to do parallel series' of games, one in this style and the other in the usual RE4 third-person style. CarbonCore
As someone who would wait outside a door for 20min if I hear creepy sounds from inside the room, contemplating life and thinking about better things to do, length is a non-issue.

My speed run is clocking at 2 hours 37 min.Could have done better if not wasted my time finding a certain item Theres a cheevo for completing the game under 4 hours which is more than enough Will def buy this on steam once I get reasonable discount Superb job Capcom

Exactly! I took my time with the opening section just because I was extremely cautious. If I knew exactly what to do and where the scares were I would have blown through it in 10 minutes. Also I really want to stress on the fact that RE7 is trying to emulate RE1-3 which were also short, contained games that encouraged multiple playthroughs with different scenarios and endings. The Madhouse mode in RE7 for example is meant to be a remixed version of the base game with a harder difficulty (limited saves etc.). I'll definitely give it a try. This. Make that 40 minutes in VR Mode.

Basically you've cramped up to max setting available in game, I'm sure they'll update the drivers and patch things up soon for even better functionality. I expected atleast 4 to 5 hours of speedruns of this game. Wished to try the demo but that'll ruin the fun. Guess I'll wait for the good discount as well and might get it with all the DLC's on PC.
