Ok lets go through this:

xbone wasn't BC on launch. They developed it later for whatever reasons like bad sales and it came out in 2015. By your argument the ps4 can probably do ps3 games but $ony did not even explore it.

Gears ultimate: Came 9 years after the original, enough time for a significant upgrade and launched before BC was launched

Halo Anniversary: Launched before BC was announced and is a compilation of all games on xbone

Forza 5: Never launched on 360 to be BC

Titanfall: Ported back to 360 after xbone launch.

Nothing to retract :giggle:

Gears of war ultimate edition was launched in 2015. Afaik, post the launch of BC on the system.

Public BC launch was in November 2015, GOW:UE launch was August 25 2015.

Gears 1 was added to BC on August 3 2015 along with the UE announcement. https://www.polygon.com/2015/8/3/9089333/gears-of-war-ultimate-edition-xbox-one-360-backward-compatbility

This is embarrassing now. Surely I don't have to go this far to show that these "remasters" Sony is doing are greedy.

Director's cut is not a new thing. It has been a thing since PS1 era. Resident evil directors cut included dualshock 1 functionality to the game.

This is the best version of the game.

Ps- don't tell me microsoft didn't notify the Devs about BC it was working on.

Arrey bhai sabit kya karna chahte ho?!?

M$ would have been only greedy if they had “launched” BC few months early or the game few months late

Now Sony is greedy but that time M$ was not?!

They took all the money they could from these remaster ports (including 3rd party) & when they couldn’t any longer they decided to “unlock” BC on the system

Sony just hasn’t reached the stage of “not making any money” yet

as simple as that

Lol, what? Point of BC was never to get the best version with your old copy. Only reason why MS is giving free upgrades is because their entire gaming model is now solely based around gamepass. It is pointless for them to charge for upgrades anyway. Not saying Sony can't give away updates for free, they should and they are in some cases. Ultimately, $10 upgrade is fine as long as the changes are worth it. Better than paying $30-60 anyway.

This is the only reason, Sony is the dominant player in the market today like Intel was 2-3 years back in the PC CPU space, which is why they are "spearheading" new and innovative ways to take your money.

MS is the weak player now which is why they are doing their daan-veer pana with game pass and those "glitch" xbl gold to gamepass 3 year subscription upgrades.

If this gen the Xbox was the dominant platform, it would be MS going all in with the 70$/game and milking remasters( doubtful since they still only have 3 big guns  , inb4 "muh bethesda games yo"! ) etc.

In anycase both are shitty industry trends, just thank God that you have BC this time atleast, not like during the PS3-PS4 Gen transition.

True.. companies which are losing give the best deals to gain consumers….same way Sony was giving free multiplayer when they were losing with ps3…

Awesome deals for gamers… people should make use of them till they last.. rather than being a fanboy over it?

I lost/gave up like 11 games due to that missing feature

1-2 on Xbox too but never bought an XBone so that doesn’t count

BC is definitely a boon to the gaming medium & preservation of good art

This was Dusk Golem last year

"Death Stranding was a flop. It sold well initially, but I've heard it has over 3 million unsold copies of what's been produced, but the sales kinda' slowed to a crawl and the game hasn't done as well as anyone involved has been hoping. Death Stranding was also originally supposed to be a very different game, a lot darker and more horror-esque, but around a year and a half before launch the development got soft rebooted. Sony and Kojima had some disagreements, and some other studios at Sony's Worldwide Studios were a bit upset at the money Kojima was getting for the game, along with disagreements lead to Death Stranding not ending up as a PS5 game and a sharper window for release even after the soft reboot. There's a looooot more here, but this is the part I'll share that's relevant."

Can't expect much from someone who lied through his teeth because the console war was too ' one sided '.
