ghb Posted December 27, 2007 Report Share Posted December 27, 2007 @ ghb....me thinks those slimebags pulled a fast one on you.... check to see if the firmware is 2.10....the could've fooled you into watching a movie(possibly divx) streamed off the HDD while pretending to load the DVD movie into the broken drive....double checked a month ago with every possible form of media..... Haha...dude...they ain't that clever. When I told them to test with a game, they put in WWE Raw vs. Smackdown 2007 (PS2) and then went to the Game menu where they scrolled down to the Skate demo I had installed in the HD and got happy that the game was working. They weren't being 'clever'...believe me! Also, one of them asked me if I was playing any pirated PS3 games on it. I'm assuming it will because the drive assembly should be the same regardless of region. dead right MT take a look at the previous pic i posted do you see any form of IC/Flash capable of hardware locking the PS3?? here's a little something for you guys to meditate upon - You can turn on the PS3 without the drive connected to it. But the OS will not allow you to run even the demos let alone the BD games. Betcha sony will soon move the flash chip to the main motherboard in future revisions. MAK Posted December 28, 2007 Report Share Posted December 28, 2007 update on the parts called their HK office apprently the number is of a firm who's client is selling this product and left my number with them to contact me back also requested the person who picked the phone that need it urgently since i have friends currently in HK lets hope for the best.. it was so difficult to pass on a messsage to the lady who picked up the phone cause she did not know english very well so i had to speak with her in chinglish lol... last option would be my bro who will be coming end of jan and he know's his way around easily since he has been working with the chinese for 5 yrs...
