Reaper looks like the problem is with the bd drive since everything works fine.

If you are willing to experiment and risk a few $,why dont u buy a new drive(shd be avb at ebay)and install it yourself.

im willing to experiment ..... ive got nothing to loose ... thanks KC nad V .... will start my search for the drive right away ...

i doubt if it will be as simple as that. taking the X360 as an example - you cant simply pop in a new DVD drive without replacing its key/device-id with your older drive's key (as that information is hard coded into the console's eeprom)

did you see the MOTHER of a h.s.f. that's cooling the ps3/cell? whoa!

check the videos guys - the ps3 is an engineering MARVEL - by comparison the 360 is like a 4-piece jigsaw puzzle for retards (flamebait attached)

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in PS products.

Regarding to your enquiry, if your PS3 is the official Sony Singapore product, please bring the machine to our service center for inspection and repair. Usually repairs would take about a week or less, depending on the kind of repair that needs to be done. It may be best to backup your data if the harddisk might need reformatting. Please take note that Playstation products do not have overseas warranty and repair services. So if you are currently not in Singapore, you need to bring the machine to the service center here in Singapore or ask a friend to do this for you. Please be informed that we won't be accepting couriers in our service centers.

The address of our Sony Service Reception is:

435 Orchard Road, #04-01 Wisma Atria, Singapore 238877

Opening hours for service reception: 11am to 9pm daily

Service hotline/Spare Parts Department: 6473 6500 (8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday)
