So, in a battle, if you are good at dodging the opponent's attacks, then you can deal more damage. Also, caught a Rhyhorn today. One of my favourite Pokémon from the original 150. Yea I threw away so many pokes without looking at stats thinking they are sh*t. Need to use the IV calc to find out real strength of Pokemon.
