Yeah i've ordered a copy of Shield locally. Great Enjoy!!! Though I did think you will go for Sword due to Zacian's OPness Anyway, for those still playing Fire Emblem Three Houses, here's the Wave 4 DLC Trailer - So looks like another house is being added. Maybe another 30 hour run, with new story? Hope so, previous DLCs were pretty pathetic.

Also, it's been a thing that GF adds most of the good stuff to their second version than the first one. The game just arrived by the way. Pokemon is literally the #1 franchise in the entire World, not just in video games, but in all entertainment medias. It's bigger than Marvel, Star Wars, GTA, Harry Potter or any other franchise you can think of. (For reference: Pokemon franchise is worth $96 Billion whereas the MCU is #10 at worth of only worth $35 billion. #2 is Hello Kitty at $86 Billion valuation). Not bad for one of my favorite childhood anime. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_media_franchises And all the controversy, and "boycott calls" people made (due to removal of old Pokemon) hyped it up even more. Sword and Shield sold some 6 million copies, at full price - in the first 2 days. That's sales other games hope to reach in a life-time https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/354504/Pokemon_Sword_and_Shield_have_topped_6_million_sales_worldwide.php The 1 month sales is just an extension of that. Scary to think what the Lifetime sales of the game would be ain't it. Good to buy Nintendo shares whenever you suspect a new mainline Pokemon Game to come out. @Agent 47 Ripoff or not, any time anything has a "Pokemon" name slapped on the title, People are going to get it. Nintendo is just cashing in. Can't say I blame them for doing business. Edited January 31, 2020 by roun90
roun90
No new model of Switch coming in 2020. However, there will be a special Animal Crossing version of the Switch. This is confirmed by Nintendo. Nintendo wants to put full focus on the existing models (The OG Switch and the Switch Lite) From Source: Even though Sony's PS5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X are out in 2020, Nintendo won't be releasing a fresh Switch model to compete. Nintendo boss Shuntaro Furukawa told investors that the company has "no plans" to release another version of its hybrid console this year. The Japanese company will instead focus on the existing models -- the Switch and the cheaper, portable-only Switch Lite -- which have sold a combined 52.48 million units and which overtook the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in lifetime sales during the last quarter. Even though we won't see a major console revision, there's a special version coming out to celebrate the arrival of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March. Walker
With my 8 year old being stuck at home all day would this be a good time to get a Switch?
roun90
Come on guys, so many people posting all games' reviews, but everyone ignoring Animal Crossing: New Horizons. No one likes that game here? 91 - Metacritic https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/animal-crossing-new-horizons 92 - Opencritic https://opencritic.com/game/7409/animal-crossing-new-horizons/reviews @Walker Definitely a good time to get a Switch. It's an awesome console. Get the normal version + Pro controller if you are able to. Switch looks good hand-held, but is awesome in docked mode. There were some rumors of an upgraded Switch coming out, but no statement from Nintendo itself (In fact they denied any such console). BTW, what kind of games would your kid play? Nintendo is known for it's fun, family oriented, all ages can play 1st party games like Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon etc. But there are also excellent mature games on the console like Bayonetta, Fire Emblem: Three Houses etc. along with various 3rd party games with mature themes (Witcher 3 for example or the tons of RPGs and Visual Novels on the system). So be sure to research and get games properly. Some are definitely not for 8 year olds, though you yourself would enjoy them very much.
