Now to be fair, the most powerful country in the world just elected a trashy reality tv star as their presidents. So we Indians dont have a monopoly on stupidity. They even put up a sticker "Card machine Kharab hai". If petrol pumps don't accept cards or their card machines don't work then what do you expect from other vendors? Also, I had to pay to a mechanic last night and paytm was not working (Send money button was doing nothing). Tried with other phones multiple times, didn't work. Turned out Paytm was down at that moment saw the news today. Cashless my a*s, a country with major cashless payment system doesn't depend on apps like paytm, they accept cards on major places. Even some stores which are accepting cards are charging 2% extra and to be fair they are not wrong because these stores already give good discounts. To become cashless, you don't force it on people. Once people see the advantages of cashless transactions, they will embrace it. Ask people in US who mostly do cashless transactions when did their government stopped cash and said go cashless because this is the future. Their government and their supporters (Bhakts?) never said something like "Are you living in 80s?" type of chutiyapa.
