And then I played soo many recent open world games like Far Cry 4 and GTA V on PC before getting a PS3 that I couldn't get into RDR at all. Played for like 6 hours but it just felt empty and the character controlled a little weird. The walk, run animations were a little off, although riding the horse was fun for a while. The shooting was blaah which is why they had that slow-mo mode to compensate for it. Seeing RDR2 winning this poll makes me sad that I missed the boat on why the first one is considered one of the best games of the generation. This is one of the reasons i still make sure i keep going back to old generations game back after playing 1 or 2 current gen game...if you start playing almost all next gen games one after another the old generations start feeling very outdated and it becomes difficult to go back to them...also i think one of the other reasons is many of us have become impatient and cannot deal with some poor flaws of a game and just give up on them completely. ^^ i too have played it this year, may be thats the reason i dint like it as much as other members here. Old games are still very good...you have just got ps4 but try to play ps3 games also ....some very beautiful games are there on that console.... Still haven't got my hands on pro(not sure what is worse, not having a console or having it but not able to use it). Dnt want to continue discussing RDR here, but as rdsarna said, it felt empty....anyways its not R* fault that i was playing it 6 years after release. While Until Dawn was a good experience and Dying Light is still fun I really want a good well done Horror game. Hope RE scratches that itch. Wandering in the Wild West alone was worth it. And coming to the gameplay aspects, prolly the best Rockstar has ever produced, especially the gunplay.
