Either my bro will be visiting from the US soon or I may be going to the US - would it be a good idea to buy this drive + movies from the US - any ideas about region issues with HD-DVD drive/Movies? Will this cause problems later on with HD-DVD titles released in India?
maverick2472
i really wanna pik this up.... but will they send the hd-dvds along with the package .... or i gotta apply for it later via mail?? From the Amazon link it appears that you will get 3 with the drive (1 included inside the box + you pick two). Then you will get an additional 5 after filling in a main in form which you need to send after receiving the HD-Drive - which means you will have to have someone in the US do this for you. MarketTantrik
Europe gets in on HD DVD player price cutting __________________________________________________ Attendees of the IFA (one big German electronics show) are reporting that Microsoft has unofficially announced that the 360 HD DVD player add-on will be receiving a price cut in Europe. The rumored price cut will drop the HD DVD player add-on by 20 euros from 200 to 180 euro. And even though the price drop hasn't officially surfaced in press release form or no date for when the new price will go into effect was announced, we advise future HD DVD player purchasers in Europe to hold off for a bit. Let's see what comes of this 20 euro price cut. __________________________________________________ Eeeeeehhaawww !!! Time to get the HD boat rocking !! MAK
HD-DVDs are region free, so it should play Indian HD-DVDs too. What about the hardware can you pick a player from the US or Uk etc... will it work with any Indian Player...
maverick2472
What about the hardware can you pick a player from the US or Uk etc... will it work with any Indian Player... From what I understand, the region of the HD DVD Drive is determined by the region of the XBox. So if you plug in a US HD DVD drive into a Indian Xbox, it assumes the region of the Indian XBox. Anyone have any more information on this?
