ALPHA17
True that, plus the Hobbit movies... The Hobbit was a stretched narrative, unlike this game which is an inversion of what Tolkien's narrative presented itself as,
Tyler
Yeah, I was speaking about the general quality of the product in case of the Hobbit (first movie was mostly OK, the rest... eh). These games are basically fan-fiction. But WB has the license so...
WhiteWolf
^^ LOL I liked the first one, combat was solid, probably the best take on the Arkham-style fighting. But apart from the Nemesis system it was the same old open-world towerfest. Decent game though. I'm expecting this one to be more of the same with even more liberties taken with the source material. "Forge a new ring of power" - Tolkien must be rolling in his grave lol... Pretty sure WB gave them more budget and time for this one. First game won lot of gotys and sold close to 10m total with over 2m on PC alone.
Tyler
But that is exactly what I'm worried about, I hope more budget doesn't equal to more feature bloat. The first game worked because it came without much hype and had a great new gameplay mechanic along with smooth gameplay. I can see why most people got bored with it even before they reached the second map though.

joken732a
First game was repetitive as f**k. I have low expectation from this one. Also spec seems a bit steep.

ALPHA17
How the f**k did a black dude land in British fantasy world? not racist just asking facts Dude there are a lot of dark skinned characters in the lore. Obviously none of them is a central character or was showcased in the Jackson series.
ScrewyAurum
How the f**k did a black dude land in British fantasy world? not racist just asking facts Many of the men who follow sauron are the dark skinned people from easterlings who are aligned with morgoth/sauron and the haradrim who are partly inspired by indian culture (or what tolkien thought was indian culture) where they use the mumakil to fight (the giant elephants). Heaven Angel
WB has put too much expectations for this game. Steep pricing even on PC plus expansions already announced. Nemesis system in the previous game was great and that was it. The 'open world' was like a barren wasteland. Combat was fun and even better than old batman series. We'll see on 8th march what they've bought this time around. Hope they show a proper gameplay.

Heaven Angel
Standard edition it is if you want to get this day 1 and then get a season pass or expansions pack later. Insane pricing.
