I have not played destiny. Is it cover based tps?

no it is a normal FPS

you get one "Super" tho which is an ability locked to class(basically Space Magic)

also there are 3 classes Titan(the tank class),Warlock(Space Wizard) and Hunter(your generic invisible sniper type class)

sometimes you get a sword pick-up and then the game goes in full third person while you whack people with said sword

Some Destiny 2 microtransaction loot gives you a gameplay advantage

Destiny streamer KingGothalion was inspecting the possible contents of Bright Engrams, which can be purchased for Silver, Destiny's real-money currency, at microtransactions store Eververse.

The possible contents of Bright Engrams include the following:

- Ability cooldown armour mods: "Chance to contain an armour mod that decreases the cooldown of one Arc, Solar, or Void subclass ability." Can affect Super, grenade, or melee abilities.

- Character stats armour mods: "Chance to contain an armour mod that slightly enhances a character stat." Can affect resilience (increases shield HP), mobility (increases movement speed), or recovery (shields regenerate faster).

- Weapon stats armour mods: "Chance to contain an armour mod that slightly enhances the weapon stats of an equipped Primary, Energy, or Power weapon." Can affect handling (equip speed), stability (recoil strength), and reload speed (obvious).

- Elemental weapon mods: "Chance to contain a weapon mod that changes the element of an Energy or Power weapon."

Nope.

The game unlocks in ~6 hours.

Reviews in progress:

  • Destiny 2 addresses many issues of the first game while smartly presenting itself in a way that makes easy for new players to get into.
  • All of this still feels like Destiny. The new social space, the Farm, is functionally the same as the Tower in the original. Finding loot and switching out your old gear still takes up a significant portion of your time. Enemies have been tweaked, but they're not wildly different, either. That's not necessarily bad, but it also makes me wonder if I'll see Destiny 2 as a sequel, rather than a half-step forward, the longer I play and the more I grind and repeat.
  • Is the story going to stay engaging through the end? Are the great drops going to get stingier at higher levels? Am I going to get bored exploring the new destinations? We’ll have to answer those hanging questions later, but based on what I’ve experience so far, Destiny 2 hasn’t disappointed my high expectations as a fan of the original.
  • At the very least, what I’ve played of Destiny 2 is an incredibly promising start. In plain English, it feels like Destiny without all the bullshit. It seems like the sequel Bungie needed to make — not a fundamentally different experience, but improved enough over its predecessor to reel veterans back in and attract people who skipped the original Destiny.
  • Look, if you liked Destiny, you’re gonna like Destiny 2. If you didn’t much like Destiny, many of the things you complained about have been addressed in Destiny 2, for better or worse. If you’re really on the fence, give it a week and see whether the servers melt, the progression is broken or the raid turns out to be rubbish, or whatever.

There are microtransactions for blue engrams which is basically an early advantage for people who don't mind to spend real money for a short period of time. Those engrams can be earned in-game. But I think we encourage people not to buy them as it'll lead to more like this or maybe can only be earned through MT's.
