I'm still in the beginning, but going by what I've seen so far, it seems like a stealth fps game, there are some monsters which give some jump scares. The game is damn atmospheric and gorgeous to look at though. It's just that the game takes a little while to apply the changes and then throws a prompt to confirm the changes. It reverts to Ultra if you don't confirm. It reverts to Ultra if you don't confirm. thx, was able to set the graphics settings to extreme .... game runs smoothly at around 70 FPS (vsync is on, might go higher if I turn it off), btw, what's that counter that pops up on the right hand corner of the screen ? Ne0 Posted May 15, 2021 Report Share Posted May 15, 2021 I think I've played the game for an hour or so (exploring the first village area), and damn, this is getting boring now. Artyom either has to sit back and listen to mins of dialogue or has to go out and keep exploring to move the story forward. The weapons aren't that great either, atleast the ones artyom has got so far aren't really that fun to use. Also, there isn't enough enemies around or they are spaced too far (except for those nasty sea monsters which keep respawning everytime Artyom crosses over in a boat :-/). Is it that this game is to be played completely in stealth or something with minimal use of weapons ? Also, Is the whole game like this or the next areas are much better ? Nope, it gets really better later on, so many different areas and seasons and lot of combat too, stealth is mix but there are areas where you cannot use stealth.. Guest Posted May 16, 2021 Report Share Posted May 16, 2021 The atmosphere in this game was very good but otherwise an okay decent game. The lack of good shooters helps a bit. Slow can be boring if you came in expecting more guns blazing. 2-3? locations are open world. Rest are more linear missions. The open-world is quite empty which again goes with the story/atmosphere.
