Anyone tried Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair yet?

Have only played 3 levels but I'm finding it to be delightful.

The art direction and music are great and the platforming feels satisfying thanks to the responsive controls. The levels so far have been quite easy but there were a couple of challenging sections (and of course some secrets as well ) sprinkled in. And looking at some of the reviews, it does get quite challenging later on.

I'm loving it so far!

"A profoundly unique and narratively dense game with insane replay value."

Calls it utterly brilliant and rates it an absolute buy even though it has some minor performance hiccups.

Releasing tonight on Steam

  • Heaven Angel changed the title to The Indie Games Thread - Out now: Disco Elysium

899 on the Indian Steam store.

Will probably pick it up next month though. I'm trying to resist getting it now coz I'm planning to play as much of Odyssey as possible before my uplay+ sub expires or before I get bored of it (whichever comes first).

If anyone's bought it, do post impressions.

A few tips for beginners:

Things I wish I knew before playing Disco Elysium

Reading some of the reviews and impressions going around, I've seen the phrases "One of the best RPG's of all time" and "Masterpiece" being thrown around quite a bit. Seems we have a proper GOTY contender on our hands.

Man, it's getting harder to resist buying this.

Bought it :P

But I'll probably only be watching my brother play it for now. Will start my own playthrough next month.

Just one sad part is the game isn't getting the attention it deserves.

Yeah. Pretty much no reviews from any major sites so far. I'm guessing that will change soon though.

Verdict:

Disco Elysium is a unique blend of noir-detective fiction, traditional pen-and-paper RPGs, and a large helping of existentialist theory. Its twisting plot, cast of memorable characters, and sheer depth of choice combine to create an experience that begs to be savoured. A few minor gripes aside, it hits on almost every single one of the marks it sets out to achieve and left me yearning to spend more time in its world.

So apparently this is really good. It's from the developers of Oxenfree.

It's releasing tomorrow on EGS for $7.99. Not sure about a Steam release.

This is why i didn't even knew this game existed..lol

Gonna skip till Steam release.
