  • 3 weeks later...

I bought my PS3 in Nov 2007......

Since then....heard about PSN store for all around the world....UK, US, Eur, even the F*&(*&^ moon...but no.....not for INDIA.....why....? cuz in SOny land we are not humans......thank you very much....

i have been hearing this about launch of PS stuff like home for india, PS store for india,

i have given up all hope about any such initiatives from sony for india........and have come up with a solid estimation

by the time i hit 80 years....(if i am alive that long)...they will surely launch these initiatives for india.....after however launching it for the colonized Saturn moon Io and the 5th earth like planet of the alpha centauri start system for PS34

Thanks SONY.....

^^ Relax. asa bhi nahi hai. Lot of things have changed. We are getting lot of games and same ps3 bundles (released in Europe) within a month from the release date there.

Psn store India should have been launched by now though..

Yaar.....thats all ok.....i know ... sometimes games get launched in ASIA first than other countries.....but the fact is this......you know.....i dont like Sony's attitude towards india.....always last on thiings that are important.......like for eg.....i am sure you have heard about PS continues play which is available in UK and US also, which is like an extended warranty after the 1 year manufacturer warranty.......is it available in india.....NO :wallbash:

and talk about repairs of PS3.....that also they say we will replace your system and give you another for 20 or 10k extra payment......what the hell is that about.....

i understand....things take time.....but this is BS......

its about time...sony realizes the potential in this country and its market and takes us a bit serious......

regarding the 20k or 10 k extra....that i mentioned........i called up sony and this the reply they gave me....if they are unable to repair the system......for gods sake.....you are Sony...maan.......why do you even release PS3 here if you are not able to handle after sales......properly....

anyways....i think i have said too much.....

and generalized my PSN store frustrations on the entire sony brand......

but that should not change my opinion....

^^ I agree with u that After sales service is still lagging behind ..they need to do something about it. Hopefully things are expected to improve soon as sales of ps3 and psp are improving.

and about repairing the ps3 and giving the person 10k or 20 k extra is not possible. i dont think any company in the world does that.... If they fail to repair they should give you a brand new ps3 or pay the full price you paid for it. thats it .. they cannot give you both yaar...

that is true...and that should be the case.....but the thing is ...... as many also have pointed out here on the forums, that.....people here are not allowed to open the PS3....these service guys themselves are confused.......which is why if you notice.....

that CROMA Store which sells PS3s also, is able to capitalise on this non performance by Sony.....so how they market is this...

you buy from us.....and for Rs. 750/- we also give you extended warranty for 2 years over and above the 1 year manufacturers warranty.....

anyways.....all we can hope for now is .... nothing should go wrong with our PS3s :wallbash:

Sony expecting 10-20k for a replacement is freaking shocking :spank: am buying the extended warranty this weekend from croma malad.

korn_668, croma told me the warranty will still be honoured by the manufacturer if your ps3 is covered by the extended warranty. I just hope this isn't a scam to fleece 750 rupees out of unsuspecting buyers. I'm going for it though just for peace of mind.

But this extended warranty of croma's ia valid for a new ps3 bought from them, within 10 days of buyin it.

that is correct.....you have to buy the extended warranty right then and there from CROMA......but i wonder what are the T&C for this warranty.....since for example.........if some PS3 bought from croma under this ext. warranty goes bad......

so they def cant repair it....cuz they dont know sh*t about PS3 they are just retailers...........so that option is rules out.......

second option is that they give you a new PS3 (which trust me my friend, is highly unlikely, as this is india and you are born in the wrong country), which means what will they do with the Bad PS3 you gave them.............let us assume they break it and sell it off......HDD for 1500......BDplayer for 4000.....or 5000 which make then reduce their loss from 24250 (25000-750[premium amount]) to say 18000 per replaced piece......i say this proposition is very costly to the retailer Croma....

This is india my friend......such gimmicks are limited to marketing only......when it comes to actual replacement....SORRYYY.......its would be like dealing with another insurance company....

however, i would suggest ....go ahead and buy the PS3....cuz failure rates are like low....

lets shift this conversation to the appropriate thread....cuz this is playstation store thread....

:spank:

Guys, sorry for being little upfront here, but the west treats India as their dump yard when technology comes. All apologies to guys who are patriotic to Sony, I feel their products are good but not attitude and does not differ in any other common west brand on how they treat India. :P

Even if they establish an Indian PSN store we would then crib about the unavailability of good content off it. Without a paradigm shift in the way these guys look at us I dont see any long term solution. Probably everything depends on macro economics, and seeing the future, some companies like apple, bose & dell to name few has realize the potential in India and have provided International support locally.

This is a great forum, and given the scenario I dont think Sony will act soon unless we protest (provided we have unity). Can we have a blackout PS3 day across India to protest Sony's policy towards support & PSN store ??????

^Umm dude it just doesn't make business sense to have PSN for India till there are sufficient number of PS3 owners. Also quite a few people buy their consoles from abroad which means 1 sale less for Sony India. Think about it, if you were the owner of a business and had to invest a lot of money for meagre returns, would you?
