DNS error 80710102

The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this....

..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP..

I fix the problem in a different way, my sister gave me a Motorola Router she didn't use anymore, so I changed the one I had to that one, and downloaded the latest firmware of the Router and then my PS3 started working online. Typing the DNS servers method never worked for me.

Well, after much effort I found a tech at Verizon that actually got me results.

My remedy was quite simple actually for this router. Two things need to be known with the Westel 327w versalink and need to be entered into the PS3 configuration.

1) Your SSID (typically the SN of the modem/router)

2) WEP 'enabled' and the WEP key

i resolved it buy switching to dhcp, manually entering my ip as 192.168.1.105, then manually entering my dns. oh yeah and i reset my router and modem before i did that. hope that helps
