There is no free upgrade path for existing owners to get this PS5 next-gen version without having to buy the DLC for 30$ which unlocks the DLC and also the PS5 upgrade. Recent example of free upgrades which actually brings in stuff like Ray Tracing and 60/120fps modes for their games include Metro Exodus and Doom Eternal. So when numerous devs/publishers both first and third party( even some indies) can do it. What is stopping Sony from doing the same? So for a game that one bought for 60$ at launch less than a year ago gets a 20$/30$ DLC. Awesome, fantastic news. The game was amazing and the DLC will add more to an already solid game which is superb. But charging a fee for that patch, not cool There is no upgrade path for those who do not want the DLC is the whole point.So, in essence, Sony is selling the same game again . They offered BC due to external pressure from competition. And now have come up with creative ways to sell you the same game again. Gaming is going to get progressively more expensive because of fools who just eat up whatever sh*t Sony serves them. Anyway post what you want ,its too much to ask from some of you. Or wait for price drops and get it later (as they have already played the PS4 version before, they don't have to get it on day one). ps- GoT is open world. Comparing it with free upgrades given for linear games is like comparing apples with oranges. Some people would happily drop $70 on the next gen GTA 5 as well. Rockstar is selling the same game for 3 generations, yet people are happily buying it. All developers dont have to follow similar paths.
