otaku.u
publisher- atlus platforms- psvita,ps4 release date- winter 2018 Quote Is it a nightmare or a dream come true? A new test of Vincent Brooks’ morality is about to take the stage. This new twist on the original Catherine, a mature romantic action-adventure puzzle game from the makers of the Persona series, will include a new love interest, “Rin,” with distinct storyline elements for the character, and additional puzzle content. Vincent’s love life has never been so complicated and dramatic! Vincent’s apartment hasn’t seen the last of the sensual people in his life. With new storyline elements for both Catherine and Katherine, players will have ample opportunity for new experiences in Catherine: Full Body. kmkaks
Catherine Full Body review: RIN LOOKS CUTE AF!!! Edited August 30, 2019 by kmkaks
kmkaks
I played around 8 hours of the original in the ps3, it was actually awesome, definite buy for atlas fans. Even the earlier platforming levels were difficult AF and tense specially with the music.
Heaven Angel
Reviews out Catherine: Full Body is a journey towards maturity that doesn't take itself too seriously, but at the same time offers a good excuse for a bit of introspection. Neither a remaster nor a remake, this version manages to offer an even richer and more substantial experience than the original. Catherine: Full Body is a complete package that's great for both newcomers and returning fans alike. A fantastic puzzle game hides underneath an interesting, engaging story. There's plenty here to warrant another look, and if you skipped it before, don't pass it over this time. Catherine: Full Body is a glorification of the original game, unmissable. If you can look past that, though, there are new story elements here that help to enhance and develop its existing characters to make them feel more relatable. If not, well, at least the puzzles are awesome. I honestly can't fault Catherine: Full Body and if you're a proponent of games as art then this is definitely a game for you. It's a stunning achievement and one that I'm glad to have played through. Catherine: Full Body has more interesting things to say about relationships that are dragged down by a story too cynical to let it shine. The Full Body remaster of Catherine shows that its unique blend of action-puzzling and adult themes still holds up after almost a decade, even if its big new addition doesn't quite fit in. With Catherine: Full Body, it feels like Atlus was trying to find an acceptable midpoint between remake and remaster. Catherine: Fully Body contains many of the blemishes from the original but doubles down on the amount of puzzles, which is a net gain. If you already had your fill though, you may as well catch up on some of the new endings and call it a day. Catherine: Full Body brings a PS3 hit title to the PS4 with its own modern additions. Not everything is ironclad, but Full body still shines despite its shadows. With new modes, a new character, and new ways to puzzle, Catherine: Full Body adds to the heart of the original in intriguing ways. Accessible, engaging, though-provoking, and packed full of content, Catherine: Full Body is one of those rare things: a perfect game. Catherine: Full Body is a marked improvement over the original Catherine, offering more ways to play for those who want to experience an engaging yet slightly problematic story. Catherine Full Body is a great review option for the 2012 title. A fresh and original proposal that will please both those who enjoy now for the first time, and those who already try their day, with a lot of visual and playable improvements. STICK3Rboy
3.5K for this new version on PS4 vs. 665rs for the classic version on steam. Considering that hefty price difference, I'm wondering if I should just go for the classic version.
KyoyaHibari
Persona team usually adds lot of stuff in reworked versions. Probably a good idea to get new one, atleast after some time when price reduces.

Considering that hefty price difference, I'm wondering if I should just go for the classic version. Taken from Catherine Wiki, these are the changes to full body (Over Classic). See if they are worth it to you - Story Rin, Vincent's new neighbor. There is a third love interest named Rin who becomes Vincent's new neighbor as well as the pianist at the Stray Sheep. Rin's involvement in the story causes a split between Catherine and Katherine. Rin does not force herself as Vincent's girlfriend as much as Catherine does and Vincent prevents an intimate relationship from escalating by default. The player needs to go out of their way to begin a relationship with Rin. There are new over 20 new animated cutscenes to further develop the characters of Catherine, Katherine, and Rin. There are 5 new endings: Rin True Ending Rin Good Ending Rin Bad Ending Catherine Alternate Ending Katherine Alternate Ending Vincent's self-reflection. On Day 6, if the player answers enough specific confessional questions to break the mysterious meter, Vincent will proceed to ask himself three intimate questions about what he wants to do with his life. Choosing certain options will begin Rin's branch of the story. Not selecting these certain options at day 6 or not breaking the meter enough prior to it will cause Vincent to go back onto the same route as the original game though new endings for Katherine and Catherine are available on this route. There are new patrons to talk to at the Stray Sheep such as Roderick and Abul. Atlus U.S.A. is reworking the localization to remove transphobic elements related to Erica Anderson. A particular example is the credits, which originally refer to Erica as "Eric Anderson" with her current name in parenthesis-an example of deadnaming. This remains in the Japanese version, but is changed in the Western release to reflect Erica's identity.[4][5] Gameplay Autoplay mode automatically climbs the shortest route. A wide level of difficulty options is also available. Apart from Easy, there is now a Safety mode which is even easier than Easy. No Game Over: Only available on Safety. No Time Limit: Only available on Safety. Skip Puzzle: Players can skip a puzzle segment with a single button for players who hate the block-climbing portion of the game. Only available on Safety. Autoplay: You can leave the difficult segments to the autoplay function which automatically climbs the shortest route. You can disable it at any time while it’s in operation, using it at your leisure. Only available on both Safety and Easy. There are two modes: "Original" and "Arrange". Original Mode enables the option to play the unaltered stages from the first version of game, although they have been adjusted a little. Arrange Mode features new mechanics and gimmicks, such as being able to link together a wide variety of blocks. There is at least one completely brand new stage in Arrange mode, which may be an outer-space themed level seen in a screenshot.[6] Rin's piano helping Vincent. Rin's piano has the power to halt the collapsing stage, activated automatically when Vincent is in an emergency. A green light appears as the piano's melody is heard. There are more than 500 stages—twice the amount of the original game. This includes new stages for the Rapunzel mini-game which has been renamed "Super Rapunzel". For Rapunzel, players can choose between Standard and Arrange. Like Standard, Arrange also features 128 stages. There are new stages for Babel and Colosseum, and the two game modes can be played immediately and do not need to be unlocked. Both modes now support online play. Some of the effects of the items have been modified. Vincent can view strategies that sheep have told him at save points. The player can now rotate the camera to see behind the stage.[7] Online changes Multiplayer sheep fun. Catherine: Full Body has an online battle mode, inspired by the competitive scene overseas. Atlus states that they noticed the competitive Catherinescene, which is what lead them to developing online features for the remaster. There is an online ranking system. Players can choose between ranked matches, which pairs up player of a similar level, or random which involves anyone. In Japan (as the Western release seems cancelled), the game features the ability to cross-save between PS4 and Vita. There is cross-play between PS4 and Vita users.[8] It is mentioned that if the player connects online during single player, they might be able to experience some companionship as you keep climbing the tower into the night, implying possible co op. The number of deaths and the status of players nationwide. Deaths based on the stages in the tower are listed, as well as what type of death (like “falling,” “crushed,” etc.). "Souls", which resemble small white floating orbs on blocks, appear at sections where other players have died. This will hint at potentially dangerous sections. DLC Catherine's voices: In the Japanese version (unknown in the Western release), you can change Catherine's voice to 1 of 11. In addition to Miyuki Sawashiro: "Cute Little Devil" (Catherine’s main voice actor), 10 additional voice-overs are downloadable content. Many of these voice actors have previously played the role of an adulterous lover in other media. These include: Mamiko Noto: "Yandere" Ami Koshimizu: "Sister-like" Aoi Yūki: "Attractive" Yui Horie: "Selfish Sister" Kana Asumi: "Eternal Maiden" Haruka Tomatsu: "Tsundere" Megumi Toyogushi: "Pure Girl" Rie Kugimiya: "Capricious Cat" Rina Satō: "Admiring Sister" Nana Mizuki: "Queen of the Night" Joker set: This includes include Persona 5 skins for Vincent and his friends, and a playable Joker with the Phantom Thieves giving supporting dialogue.[9] Trisha is also seen interacting with the Phantom Thieves in a cutscene. Upon clearing stages as Joker, the player will see small event scenes with the Phantom Thieves. Swimsuits for everyone. Nero Glasses: Allows the player to see many characters in their swimsuits.[10] This is included in the Limited Edition and it is unknown if it will be available as DLC later. Additional Playable Characters: Unlocks the following additional playable characters for use in the game’s "Babel" and "Colosseum" modes: Catherine, Katherine, Rin, Orlando, Jonny, Toby, Erica, Boss. Music Catherine: Full Body contains new music. Most of the game's music was released on the third disc of the soundtrack set included with the Limited Edition. The 21 soundtrack includes: Silent Sheep (main menu theme) YO (Acid Jazz ver) Also sprach brooks (Smooth Jazz ver) Tomorrow (Rin's theme) Have a good day Sorrow Recollection Ufufu Doors of Possibility Praise song (?) Stairway to the air Wagner Ride of the Valkryies Beethoven "Piano · Sonata No. 14 Moonlight Op.27-2 Shihacha minor third movement」 What is its identity? STICK3Rboy
Thanks guys. Looks like there are quite a lot of changes/additions. Guess I'll wait for a sale. Hopefully by then we will also get a PC port with some sweet regional pricing. Edited August 30, 2019 by STICK3Rboy
Aloy
FYI the game's on sale on PSN @Rs.1200! Began the game yesterday. My stupid self was stuck on the first level for 15 mins lol, until the game made me realize that we can pull the blocks outwards and hang onto its edge to create a staircase. Never have I felt this stupid. I'm really looking forward to the ride though.
Aloy
Finished the first play through in about 14 hours. That revelation about Rin lmao, didn't expect that at all. I felt disgusted with myself as I was leaning towards her for the MCs character romance route ? The characters and voice acting are so damn good. The ambience of the bar is just right. Now onto unlocking a couple more endings. The gameplay is really fun. I think there are about 10+ endings..will definitely not be able to get all of em
Aloy
Probably one of the slickest openings I've ever seen in gaming.
Aloy
Done with the 3 true endings, one for each character. Katherine one felt the safest and most natural one. Rin's route was pretty interesting but definitely not for everyone. I liked it cause it had some pretty powerful themes. Catherine's route felt like fan service. The build up didn't make much sense for me. Still was fun because playing the bad guy in a game is a unique fun experience. In this case, playing a cheating bastard lol Overall one of the most unique games I've ever played. Atlus should never ever stop making games. Rin's true ending was the most fun IMO Spoiler Break up with Katherine was natural. Also, who wouldn't want to go on a space adventure across the universe with an alien singer who has no true form anyway lol? That said, Rin's route was one of acceptance of differences, and it felt great. Though it was really uncomfortable because Rin looked like a kid. But she was also the most genuine one of all 3 routes. Non-controlling and allowing both to follow their own dreams (Unlike Katherine) and also not manipulative and a genuinely good person (Unlike Catherine). It felt like Rin's route was the true route. Though you should also see the bachelor routes (Including their own true endings). They are really fun.

They also have the best personality, and the theme of thinking with your heart and that differences we perceive are a product of our mind's limitations got me good. I'm a pretty open minded person so I could connect a lot here. Also mate Jonny was able to get him a soulmate lol Not sure if I'll do the other routes, at least maybe not right now. The initial few days are pretty much always the same and skipping cutscenes/dialogues becomes a chore. Have a lot of good games on my backlog!
