KnackChap
the only closest thing is yakuza and even then this 2000 game has a more interactive world than the latest yakuza game. just know the game is a slow burn and takes it time to get going esp 1. Will it be like Yakuza Kiwami or just a resolution bump with minor texture updates? Is any info given? just resolution bump. the big news is that its finally playable on systems, the only other way was to source a dreamcast & xbox or use emulation which didnt work that well. the game is finally on PC so that means it'll be preserved for the future and mods will take care about the visual upgrades. I think it was just made for fans nostalgia. Remaking a game like this this would cost a lot of money.

I actually find PS2 gen games less jarring than PS360 gen. 60fps > almost HD.

But both games were just paid betas for the real king: Yakuza. You know in a sense it feels like a sequel even from a story standpoint . Shenmue has a young school kid , then Yakuza starts out with the MC much older. Both of them have similar personality too. But I wouldn't call Yakuza a succesor in terms of gameplay. Shenmue has a much more Adventure feel to it. I kinda miss that. Edited April 18, 2018 by Shadoken

Shadoken
Pre orders are selling like crazy. Sega is prolly cursing themselves for not funding Shenmue 3. They been sitting on this franchise for so long for no reason.
