What's the remaster going to be like. Will it be like Yakuza Kiwami or just a resolution bump with minor texture updates? Is any info given?

just resolution bump. the big news is that its finally playable on systems, the only other way was to source a dreamcast & xbox or use emulation which didnt work that well.

the game is finally on PC so that means it'll be preserved for the future and mods will take care about the visual upgrades.

I get it, man. But it'll be pretty jarring playing PS2 era game in this day and age.

I think it was just made for fans nostalgia.

Remaking a game like this this would cost a lot of money.

Y’all getting hyped for Shenmue. But both games were just paid betas for the real king:

Yakuza.

You know in a sense it feels like a sequel even from a story standpoint . Shenmue has a young school kid , then Yakuza starts out with the MC much older. Both of them have similar personality too.

But I wouldn't call Yakuza a succesor in terms of gameplay. Shenmue has a much more Adventure feel to it. I kinda miss that.
