I am playing on balanced mode. And I have selected "Favor resolution" on pro. I would say even after playing the new one, a minority would still like the older games for a some good and valid reasons.Similar to how a minority prefers the older Tomb Raider games(especially those PS1 ones) over the new ones.You just need a wait a few weeks or so until people are brave to admit they liked the older GoW games because if they said it now they might get sh*t on(similar to ROTR). But unlike the TR reboot which became a dumbed down uncharted wannabe (which I personally didn't mind much TBH), this one still very much feels like a GoW game even with all its changes. They've retained the essence. If anything the devs should be applauded, and if the old fanboys don't like it, they can stick to the previous 6 games. No one will blame them, and they don't deserve a simialr game after ascension. Same with me, I went through entire 2 hrs, it was relatively quite, then I stated to change screen calibration a bit and it reved up. Reminds of a conversation I had with someone the day before reviews hit: Him: What do you think of the new God of War? Me: It's bloody epic. But... Him: What? Me: Fanboys are going to be divided on this because they usually hate change. It's pretty arbitrary for me, like I played the game for continuous 2hrs and it was relatively quiet but on the screen where HDR calibration is available, it accelerated and decelerated in such a small span of time that I was sure it was gonna go dead. You can't continue to make same game again and again with the same formula, especially if the formula itself is pretty repetitive. While i haven't played the new game yet, i can only assume that this one is better looling at the reception and how average the old games were. No. The new Tomb Raider is 100% Uncharted Wannabe. The criticism is deserved. They have changed the core of the game. With this game going in the opposite direction still retains the old gow vibe. Kratos is Kratos here 100%. Gow is gow here. I don't think its possible to critique this game below 9. It would be a click bait only.
