It's been like 7 months and has received enough post-launch content.

Laughing my fking a*s off

1 new map, 1 old map, 2 new heroes and zero new weapons. This is what constitutes to enough post-launch content now

I mean, there's a limit to how much you can spin bad stuff. One new map and no new weapons, vehicles or fighters? None? From a lore so rich with stuff to add? Come the fk on.

I am very much in favor of not having season pass. Fragmentation is a big issue in BF1.

You can mostly solve the fragmentation issue by letting people play on new maps as long as someone in the lobby has the map pack. I read about some game doing this already but can't remember. I know GT5 did this, you could race on DLC tracks as long as lobby leader had them. Everyone downloads them as part of the patch anyway.

Although, I feel if the gameplay is strong then content updates being spaced out isn't a big problem. I put over 120 hours in Overwatch and never got bored of the maps which launched with the game.

Overwatch is also a competitive shooter, so that aspect has to be looked at too.

BattleFront has no such excuse. Even if they deliver, one new map per quarter, it would qualify as some support. Currently, they are struggling even to add content with the movie releases. I mean the last event based shenanigan from their side was for The Last Jedi. Post that, it has been awfully quiet.

The way it is right now, F2P titles like Warframe, Paths of Exile, War Thunder offer a faster ToT than the major established houses in the field.

Not enough. Need monthly maps and characters. Doesn't matter if you had 120+ hours of fun. You still need more maps. Daily updates.

Yeah, Joe's comment reads like when you have to write a 500 word word answer but you know only 2 sentences so you just pad it out.

Free. Better than paying $$$ for half-arsed content you get these days. Imagine complaining about free content. Life must be sad.

Overwatch in 2 years added these maps:

  • Horizon Lunar Colony
  • Rialto
  • Junkertown
  • Blizzard World
  • Eichenwalde
  • Numbani
  • Ilios
  • and arena maps

Same old Assault / Escort / Control modes. Some new characters.

Guess that's okay. aujJ24D.gif

Season pass $60 - complain.

Free content $0 - complain.

The guy has not even played the base maps and all characters but first to complain about post-launch content. People these days. ROFL. aujJ24D.gif

SOLO movie just came out and there has already been an update adding the content. Plus, the 2nd part of the SOLO season is coming next month.

Oh they did bunch of event based, umm, events, the kind that Destiny 2 also shits out on bi-weekly basis for free users. I'm talking about actual new content, like stuff you get from map packs and stuff.

Battlefront is an anomaly and it's a financial failure for all intents and purposes.

Its not, far from it. There are publishers that would kill for 8M+ sales, especially for a title with mediocre review score and bad publicity.

several lines long yet listed only 3-4 actual content updates.

Except it's not?

  • New single-player DLC that contains three new campaign chapters.
  • New arcade locations: Kashyyyk, Hoth, Endor, Crait, Jakku, and Death Star II.
  • New map: CRAIT (Galactic Assault)
  • New map: D’QAR (Starfighter Assault)
  • New map: Bespin
  • New hero ships – Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing. For Poe Dameron, there is a new hero ship upgrade for his T-70 X-wing.
  • New mode: Jetpack Cargo
  • New event & mode: Ewok Hunt
  • More cosmetic customizations
  • New map: Jabba's Palace
  • New game mode: Hero Showdown
  • New arcade stuff - Starfighters added
  • Plus, new progression, a tonne of challenges and whatnot.

Plus, the part 2 of SOLO will be out in June.

If you have not played or have no interest in other parts of the game, then don't bother posting half-arsed information. Battlefront II is doing just fine. Whoever plays it know how fun it actually is.

Both things came out within 17 days of game release (along with bunch of other TLJ stuff). That is one hell of way to Millennium Falcon your way through development, testing, balancing and QA. Unless of course it was cut from original game and held hostage for movie release, but that is a ridiculous thing to even think about. Why would anyone do such a thing?

EA? Monies? I dunno? EA?

Well its not money because EA suddenly had a change of heart for no apparent reason and removed MTX, so I firmly believe they did it all in 17 days.

You got to be scraping the bottom of the barrel when you have to pad out the added content count with cosmetics and reworked mechanics because you released it broken.

Totally not related to Disney holding them by their balls.

Well it is. It made way way less than expected. That's a financial failure. The license cost a lot of money and the game itself is very expensive. On top of that, EA has crazy good margins with its games. I'll go out on a limb and say it did not make the required ROI.

We would have heard about heads rolling at DICE if that were the case.

Not sure if this was posted here but two in-game currencies confirmed by EA. Most F2P titles have two currencies, I wonder why this needs as many.

Lol there are events every 2-3 months ....New skins emotes etc.....New arcade modes in every event, there have been a few death match maps released in the past 6 months ,there are custom servers where u can tweak the game settings any way u want

They release characters too every 4-5 months or so....There is even overwatch league, overwatch contenders etc where u get to watch pros play at their highest level (I know it's not part of the game....Still)

In my opinion they are pumping content as much as rocket league,cs go,etc etc

But the ,60$ price tag .... That is a bit too much.....Anyways these days u can get it for 40$

This is primarily why I have stopped playing the game. Too much of a constant grind to get the latest and greatest of the cosmetics pool. Everytime I log in.

A gist. You get the idea. Plus, Battlefront II also received a lot of skins/emotes and whatnots. Every update has added new stuff but deluded people who have not booted the game since launch are singing the same old tune. aujJ24D.gif

As for the price, Overwatch was $60 on consoles. PC was $40. The skin grind is also heavy forcing the users to buy the loot box or simply grind daily. Personally, I have no issue. I had a great time playing and I didn't even bother checking out the skins. Nor I do now with other games.

It's a common thing these days and if someone doesn't get that, maybe should stop playing instead of crying. Either pay up or devote your time or simply don't care. No one is forcing you.

If it's free, shut up and take it. Even if you get 50% of what you get by paying $60 season, the deal is still better.

Yeah. It's an fps. Skin hardly matters anyways.

You don't really need every skin tbh. I just find a skin I like and stick with it.

The game is too good tho.

That it is :D

Ya she's almost useless now.....You'll need to try hard to play her right.....Not worth it tbh
