TRMNTR
People are making this out to be a bigger deal than it is. Apart from the graphics not being next-gen (which is disappointing) the game is looking excellent! I'm more excited to play this than I was for Reach, 4 and 5. I'm not sure how many of you actually play/like Halo and who are here just to troll (I'm guessing more of the latter) but for someone who has played every Halo since the original, I genuinely liked what I saw and I can't wait to play it! My only concern right now is that they might be behind in development and aren't admitting it. That would be bad. I really don't want another MCC.

Before writing your next wall of text maybe ask instead of assuming. I liked the game because of it's semi-open world nature. That's never been done in Halo. The possibilities are endless. That and the fact that they're essentially rebooting the franchise and trying to do what the original Halo wanted to do but couldn't at the time because of technological limitations. Halos after the original have gotten more and more restrictive in the worlds they craft. That is about to change and that excites me. Having listened to a lot of the people that attended the community program that 343 organised for Infinite, I can appreciate their vision for the game and realy looking forward to it. playstationdude
I dont know why everyone is so disappointed. Granted the more I see the trailers the worse the visuals look (12 TF powah ), but gameplay wise it looked pretty solid and smooth. And maybe the story will be good too. The visuals are worse that some of the current gen games. And people are praising the gameplay like this is first ever semi open world fps game. We already had Doom Eternal not so long ago. Huge open levels, runs at 60 fps. Far Cry 5 and it's DLCs, 4K native, not 60 fps but look way better. Then there are countless 3rd person semi open world games with much better graphics. Remember MGS4? Looks way better and runs at 60 fps, totally open ended non linear gameplay. I can go on and on. Many expected this to be graphical showcase and with gameplay improvements. They added hook, but level design was so meh that the hook was used only 3 times. What a way to show the newest feature. You put a sticky bomb on a brute, and that dude just kept doing whatever he was doing and died due to explosion. Play older Halo games, put a sticky bomb on enemies and they run like crazy. 343 is a b tier developer who can't even get the basics right, forget about reinventing something. Microsoft should give the franchise to someone competent.

I should have made clear earlier that I am not disappointed mainly because it doesn't look NextGen(a bit though ) rather I didn't like how they announced its taking the GAAS route which is a problem for a gamer like me who likes single player, story driven games which is one of the things I like about Halo. Also and I know it might be an unpopular opinion, I don't want halo to go open world because I don't trust 343 to create an open world which will hold my attention. They might fill it with fetch quests and such which is not something I wanted personally from Infinite. Edited July 26, 2020 by b!T

They might be taking it the GaaS route (or not as the future is uncertain) but they've said that they've focused on the Single player story. I like the addition of the pilot and have high hopes for the story. I'm willing to bet the story is going to be good. I don't care for open world game's either. But semi-open world? That is something that I'll get behind. According to the people who attended the community conference, it's supposed to be a collection of small islands that will open up slowly; in other words, it should start out linear and end up being semi-open world. In fact, the rumor was that they were going for a full open world game (what Bungie originally intended for Halo: CE) but they stuck with what it's now. Someone said they felt it'd be closer to Ghost of Tushima style world/objectives but I don't really know what that entails.

The third brute when stuck with the spike grenade, tries to jetpack towards the player but the player predicts that and slides backwards to avoid damage. Big Boss
I can show you so many games where animations are broken or interrupted by other action. It's such a basic feature. Apparently it's too much for a studio like 343.

All Halos. I can't tell you the reason why it didn't break animation here but it's very common with the Elites, Grunts and Jackals though. The Brutes are well, Brutes. They chase you down even when they don't have weapons and are being shot at. The Elites on the other hand, take cover when being shot at. They're so many possibilities that it's not even worth nitpicking one use case. What I'd argue instead would be the logic behind the exploding pods. The brutes are sent in pods and as soon as they get out, it explodes. Seems stupid but then there might be a reason behind it. Who knows. TRMNTR
This reminds me, have you played Destiny lately? The AI in destiny is so sh*t compared to Halo. It's like they chopped off the AI developers' hands after Halo. I'm not sure if you've played the recent Halos but maybe do a comparison if you have the time. Lately the AI has been more super aware and juiced up...especially in Prophecy dungeon and Nightfalls. Things wrong with Destiny doesn't include AI. It's not bad and far from shite. To each his own I guess. My primary reasons for abandoning Destiny were the grind and how boring the enemy AI was. I stopped bothering with the campaign and only played MP thereafter. Edit: To be fair, I stopped playing Destiny a long time back so I'm not sure if they've updated things since then. So my experience is quite old.
