Yeah, everything is persistent in game. That's how you can make a collection of sandwiches. I remember in Skirim, NPCs had a set routine. You could pick pocket one, and put a time bomb there. And constantly thinking about it. Just found out from a twitter that we can destroy asteroids to collect resources instead of touching down to planet surface. I was stuck in that contraband/bounty situation, took a break for some work but was literally thinking about different ways to get out of that situation the entire time. I know about Wolf den but this quest directs me to different area. I need to know what equipment or ship available to bypass scan or are there any skills i need to unlock to avoid detection. Base building and ship building is addicting and are time sink. base building feels like a complete different genre of game itself. Like those Tycoon games. Nope. Even more useless activity is planet scanning. I have played game for 10 hrs. And have done only that. Game is very chill if you don't do quests.
