WhiteWolf
I have a feeling this will again perform better on PS5 than SX as they showing PS5 version not SX

After playing so many 60 fps games, going back to 30 fps is very jarring. Game tanks frame rate hard even on pc with RT no matter what card you using lol

STICK3Rboy
On my 3070 I found that 1440p60 at max settings (including RT) in this game is only possible with DLSS. I know it's been said many times before, but DLSS really is a gamechanger. Also, having previously completed the game at around 30fps, the framerate jump to 60fps stood out to me more than the RT. I only tried it for a few minutes though. Will definitely be replaying this soon. The combat feels so good at 60fps

0verlord
I think there's a DLSS equivalent machine learning capability coming to XSX and XSS called DirectML DirectML – Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S support Machine Learning for games with DirectML, a component of DirectX. DirectML leverages unprecedented hardware performance in a console, with Xbox Series X benefiting from over 24 TFLOPS of 16-bit float performance and over 97 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of 4-bit integer performance on Xbox Series X. Machine Learning can improve a wide range of areas, such as making NPCs much smarter, providing vastly more lifelike animation, and greatly improving visual quality. https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/03/16/xbox-series-x-glossary/ With DirectML, Xbox Series consoles will kick butt left and right. Basically, 24TFs on XSX!!! Edited December 20, 2020 by 0verlord

DLSS won't be standard unless it becomes a "standard" like this, as long as it is nvidia exclusive it will not find huge reach. If MS makes it part of Directx, then every game will have it like RT is now part of those directx12 games in the future

Am curious if AMD is even releasing new GPUs to compete with RTX 3 series

Right now only handful of games support DLSS. If it becomes part of directx stack, then hopefully most games will start supporting it. But do a lot of people buy amd gpu? I can mostly see nvidia being bought

The idea is similar - Take a low res version and upscale it. The algorithm is different. DLSS uses neural engine (blackbox), while checkerboarding is done via manual manipulation of features (interpretable).

Dlss is a game changer for sure from what we have seen , the direct ml improvements are unknown for now till the feature comes . as far as the 24TF performance is concerned , i think that definitely a stretch . I remember Cerny also touting the 16 bit float performance that doubled the ps4 pro to 8.4 TF during the launch event and we all know how the ps4 pro performed in comparison to X. Dont believe everything you read ,only believe in raw specs . Edited December 20, 2020 by triggr happy ss

Implications of Raw specs may not be fully understood by us gamers without actual game performance data across a large number of games. We are limited by game performance data available today and info given by hardware companies as the nature of next gen architecture is different from last gen
hsk_colossus
Amd supersampling, their dlss competitor in not Ai/ machine learning based I think... I don’t think it’s going to be as robust as dlss anytime soon
