benchmarking tool is photo mode.  ok DF

XSX kicking PS5's butt again!! Control with ray-tracing turned ON and un-capped fps in photo mode (in Quality mode and same exact settings) -

Scene 1 - XSX does 3% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 2 - XSX does 11% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 3 - XSX does 14% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 4 - XSX does 20% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Outlier scenes - XSX does 36%(!!) better than PS5 in terms of fps

Out of 21 comparison scenes, on average XSX did 16% better than PS5 in terms of fps.

The point is - very good benchmarking tool for relevant power comparison between XSX and PS5

photomode is benchmarking tool and XsX won.

RT is sh*t on consoles. Low quality  RT.

My jaw dropped when i watched PC version RT video. SX and PS5 are absolutely sh*t machines when it comes to RT.

Metro Exodus,BF V, Cyberpunk destroys anything available on consoles in RT by miles.

Devs should ditch RT altogether and focus on high frame rate at high graphics settings unless they started using DLSS style technique on consoles

Turns out SX isn't running proper RT in photomode.

Maybe photomode isn't the best way to benchmark stuff.

Wow, that's a glaring omission on the XSX. Surprising DF didn't catch that.

That could be bug?

Who saying SX not running RT in photomode? Reset Era?

On a side note, honestly I don't think RT on consoles does any justice to the game, half way through it I try to like the Graphics mode with the shiny floor and the glass windows (nothing too awesome to be honest) but in combat it just looks horrible with the 30fps. 60fps is amazing, heck even panning the camera a little fast in graphics mode makes the game look blurry and weird.

DF subreddit has a thread about it that also shows other missing stuff on SX.

Its possible that photomode renders the game differently.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't using photo mode as benchmark ignore the CPU level tasks, like AI, physics engine etc.,?

Yeah most games with proper photomode (not just screenshots) will turn some stuff off and add some other stuff just temporarily just to give you more artistic control and make the pics look better than the game actually is. DF just assumed that Control in photomode runs completely unmodified except FPS cap removed.
