Sorry to continue this conversation but Hitman 3 (released in Jan 2021) - please, this is well known as a clear XSX win.

See for yourself, runs at lower FPS on SX in certain levels. PS5 is pretty much locked 60fps everywhere. There hasn't been a clear winner like PS4 vs Xbone or Pro vs 1X.

SX doesn't have a single game that unanimously runs better than PS5

another clear example of XSX kicking PS5's butt -

PS5 runs at a lower resolution and can't manage graphical effects like volumetric fog etc. compared to XSX

turned off the Film Grain

while playing TLOU 2, I also initially turned off film grain and it looked great but I had also looked at this trailer and couldn't figure out why it didn't looks as good. Then I turned film grain on - that did the trick. I think it's pretty good for cinematic effect - I think many blu-ray movies have that effect. Also, it masks areas which are not graphically very polished.

Try film grain for sometime, I think you may come to love it

I guess it's very subjective. I personally did not like the film grain. In some areas it did look good and apt but not throughout specially outdoor sections of TLOU2. So rather than turning it on and off again I just like it to be turned off.

Let me screencap it for you.

PS5 version (they start talking abt it at 10:36)

Now if you don't mind sudden drops or jittering (like in Control) or 50-60fps then SX is fine, nothing wrong with it. I hope this clears the "misconception"

About Div2, it runs in BC mode with patch applied (like GoT). There is no native next gen port. So PS5 picks up the Pro version and SX goes with 1X.

Ubisoft has already said that it is a bug and they would be updating the game and correcting this soon (talking about Division 2).

Calm down. Sx is more powerful. All hail Series X!!

Is this the new Xbox vs playstation thread ??:ko:

Meanwhile unless the UE comes to gamepass, I not buying this again.. I already own control on PS4 and it’s a bummer that they will not upgrade it to next gen version

*takes deep breath*

First of all, I thought this was Control thread, and Control is better on PS5, even though the margin is quite small and negligible. That said I haven't seen XSX stutter clips.

Secondly, PS4 Pro managed reflections properly and PS5 couldn't?! Clearly that's a bug!! Even Ubi admitted to that, heck even Alex from DF said the same, that PS5 is capable of much more.

Third, D2 is running on BC mode. Pretty sure you know what that entails, XB1 had the superior version last gen.

P.S. Agreed on Hitman though, XSX has a clear upper hand there. I wasn't aware of the stutters in XSX, I'd pick locked fps/dynamic res over unstable fps/higher res., but that's just me

That said, since this is Control thread, my comment about XSX not kicking PS5s butt holds true.

Meanwhile I started control UE via ps plus and enjoying it.

The sory is too weird but engaging enough. The real winner is the amazing art design and fun gameplay. You're in for a treat.
