Which version makes more sense to buy?

Standard edition.

Deluxe is total crap.

Super Deluxe is fine if you actually play DLCs which won't be complete till 2020 Sep.

Buy standard, play it. It will have so much content to cover. Plus, monthly updates will keep you busy till fall/winter when 1st DLC is out.

Am not a big fan of BL DLCs are most of them were crap with some good stuff.

If we go by previous games, they going to feed DLCs for 2-3 years. Still expecting Steam release next year end-ish.

Monthly content probably won't be there / rewards all gone by then and it sucks.

Monthly content won't be there? BL 2 was still getting updates and content.

The base game itself will be pretty huge and will take months to complete, it'll be new on Steam so huge audiences will hop in.

Gearbox might have thought of something else it'll become stale within a year.

As in unique events and rewards. Next month update should bring Halloween stuff. Later Maliwan Takedown which also has exclusive rewards. Etc,. They won't be there when the game is out on Steam next year. Only the usual DLC packs.

Save file will be compatible. So EPIC to Steam will work and lots of users (assuming) will max out by then in various stuff.

It is obviously fine to play a year later too but personally don't like playing online games after a year when all hype and community is split/moved on to next.

Is this going to have split screen for couch co-op? Planning to play this with my brother if that is the case. We played a lot of Borderlands 2. This should be even better with all the gameplay and quality of life improvements.

Yes, will feature both online and offline co-op, the latter taking the form of split-screen. You'll also be able to toggle separate loot on and off, depending on how you want to play.

Not enough reviews out at the moment as they didn't send keys.

Currently 84 - typical Borderlands game without much improvement

  • Borderlands 3 sticks to its guns and outdoes itself with an amazing arsenal of weapons, humor, and missions.
  • Borderlands 3 fumbles with its bosses, but the game ultimately continues its predecessors' tradition of fun, mayhem-filled looting and shooting.
  • Despite the formula growing a bit stale, Gearbox has expanded upon it in the right way, resulting in a great Borderlands experience.
  • The Borderlands formula might be a bit dated with its raunchy jokes and cheesy dialogue, but that doesn’t change that it is a formula that keeps reeling players back in again and again.
  • An old formula executed well, Borderlands 3 rarely takes chances or strays from expectation
  • An endless font of bad jokes and cool guns in the series' most vapid story yet, Borderlands 3 skates by on watching numbers fly and goons explode.
  • Borderlands 3, if it works well at launch, is a competent game that feels like a passable continuation of the franchise instead of an evolution. It’s the same general idea with new vault hunters, but with little of the joy and danger that I fell in love with in earlier entries.
