Keeping mac connected to power adapter does not hurt the battery life. They have a safeguard feature where the power is switched to adapter and battery does not charge after 100%. It is actually recommended by some people. I have been using Macbook Air since 2013 and the battery held its charge above 1300-1400 charge cycles. After 6 years I started to the “Service Recommended” message but all is still working fine. It still gives me 3-4 hours of backup.

I guess its fine for now, but sometimes I need to use that power port for something else. its a bit a annoying to have to be constantly plugged in to use it this way.

MacOS Big Sur doesn't have an Energy Saver option. I did do what it said in the battery settings, and that didn't help.

You see in the steps given, it says 'plug in your mac to the power source' :wallbash:

What is good way to contact flipkart customer support?
With amazon i can live chat/ call.

With flipkart I start chat and they call. Response time is also like 3 days.

They don't give a sh*t unless you start bashing them on twitter. I did the same. Received a call from Flipkart social media team and my issue was resolved.

I raised an official grievance via INGRAM. Works wonders.

Although Big Sur manages battery rather well, I'd recommend doing a regular discharge and charge of your Mac battery. The battery in my Office mac started bloating up because it was always connected to the power source (post COVID wfh).

I recently was looking to buy a chair for wfh as well and mainly found that ergonomic work chairs are much better than these.

These gaming chairs have a shallow lumbar support, body ends up hunching into the cavity while mesh back in a work chair is able to contour around you.

Have a look at something like this:

https://delhi.featherlitestore.com/product/helix-high-back-mesh-chair/

https://ergospace.in/collections/office-chairs/products/elan-high-back-mesh-chair-wfhc-33

These chairs don't come cheap but are definitely worth it in the long run.

I bought the later one from the physical store, got it for 20k and really happy with it.

Also, don't buy these online, you should really go and try these out first, each chair has wildly different comfort and support.

You'll have to feel the foam for the butt support, don't go on online reviews.

Many shops in Gurgaon, otherwise you can try Kirti Nagar as well, you might be able to get a better deal there.

Don't go for gaming chairs. Get an ergonomic chair, check out featherlite they have stores in all major cities so you can go and try and maybe get a better deal. I have had a lot of back problems since the past 4-5 years and I use featherlite at home and work, these chairs provide great support and are comfy.

Yeah, but I wish this was simply in the settings like on a Windows computer.

Did you use your office Mac with a monitor? I essentially want to keep the lid closed and work on the monitor, but it won't let me do it unless I'm constantly plugged in.

I always see these youtube setups that have macbooks closed, connected to the monitor. Wondering if they have a workaround, or are they also always connected to power?

I was gonna get one from Featherlite only upon your recommendation but all of their decent high back chairs are oos in Delhi.

I bought one from Ergospace, Gurgaon and that was close enough and for a lesser price.

I guess wfh has led to a major increase in demand and their production is not able to meet it. Ergospace looks good too.

Thanks. Will check FL store in Noida. Can't be bothered to go to GGN or Delhi for a chair. :fear1:

Try this app (dont personally use this): https://apps.apple.com/app/amphetamine/id937984704?mt=12

I use a dual monitor setup with my Mac but I dont work when unplugged. Mainly because intelliJ and our Jetty app server are power hogs and Mac tends to throttle when not plugged in.

I discharge manually overnight or when workload is light by keeping the lid semi closed.

Is https://gamenation.in/ a legit website? It seems similar to gameloot with exactly same prices. Just wanted to know if anyone has had experience ordering from gamenation.

Yeah, legit.

IVG members have bought from the same.

You might also like to try Geeken. Idk if its better than FL, but I've been using this Geeken chair for 4-5 years now and its still like the day I bought it, very comfortable.

They have a store in Sector-9 Noida, which should be somewhat close by.
