Thanks for the reply guys.

Well, how much time do you think programs in India would start broadcasting in HD.Will have a look at that 42" Samsung TV.Any more suggestions people.

There's an Indian news channel called "X" or something, that claims to be HD ready.

@Necrosys, go to the shop, switch to custom mode (remove the vivid mode) and with same settings (color), in both Sony and Samsung check the picture quality and buy the one that you like in your price range. Sony should look better according to me, but its upto you, if you are satisfied with Samsung for the price difference.

Not sure when we are going to get HD TV transmission, either via cable, satellite or via IPTV. IPTV itself in India is taking so much time, yes I agree last mile access for companies other than BSNL its quite tough. Its the TV companies who should put pressure on the broadcasters and service providers to get the HD soon, but unfortunately nothing seems to be happening soon I feel. Bharti and Reliance has been talking about IPTV, but they are still not ready.

I hope some provider would come up with 720p transmission soon for atleast few HD channels to start with...

I visited various shops today. My Parents were nearly ready for the Sony 40" Full HD X series. All went right until that guy connected the LCD to Tata Sky.I had warned my parents earlier regarding the HD scenario in India but still Tata Sky wasn't crisp & clear even when compared to my 29" CRT TV.I hope that person connected Tata Sky in a proper way with proper settings.Cannot ask my Parents for so expensive TV just for gaming.

Anyways,I feel HD content in India would be available by the year end.News X as MT said is HD ready and Star Plus is making Mahabharata in HD as well.Even HD ready Set Top Boxes would be available soon.Would have to wait till then :)

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Don't know about HD content by next year....

but the government was bragging that they will show the 2010 Commonwealth games (think it is Commonwealth games in Delhi) will be telecasted in HD.

Came in newspaper a couple of months back...

Anyway watching Blu-Ray movies on HD TV is awesome.

Am going to apply the House method here - 1) Take out RAM sticks individually and try booting. If it boots without a beep, clean that channel with a hard brush.

2) Just clean out all the RAM channels with a hard brush.

I had this once and turned out there was a small bit of dust / fluff in the channels.

3) If that doesn't help, take a vacuum or blow dryer to the mobo and BLOW. Generally cleans out the dust.

^^ let's take one appendage at a time. (continuing with House metaphors). the next step would be to check if the slots are faulty (scratch or something). don't know how to do that. i don't remember but there was a way to check if your ram is correctly working based on some lights glowing or not glowing. search on the net and you can check if the ram is fine. your mobo is under warranty right?

Ok, had to move my PC to another room and the cable isn't long enough.

Am thinking of getting a Wireless router for PC and PS3. Have Pacenet cable (no modem).

Is this possible?

Does it effect the browsing/gaming speed?

Can I use it for my PS3 without switching on my PC?

Is this possible with Pacenet (incase someone is using it)

I havn't seen a router in my life and have no idea how it works!
