aashu Posted August 13, 2008 Report Share Posted August 13, 2008 Iam planning to buy another 20" dell monitor,for personal use,at my college hostel. 1.SP2008WFP(glossy screen with webcam)-2ms response time(gray to gray),1680x1050 resolution,2000:1 contrast ratio,(DVI-D & VGA) +3 years Advanced Exchange Warranty.....extendable to 5 years advanced exchange I own this piece already,but find the gloss a bit straining while play in my well lit room,I need to shift my viewing angle at times during Gaming..but Interestingly Gloss + 2MP webcam was the reason I had bought it!!! OR 2. Dell UltraSharp 2009W (anti glare screen)-5ms response time,1680x1050 resolution,2000:1 Contrast Ratio,(DVI-D & VGA) +3 years Premium Panel Limited Warranty(which means even If one Bright pixel is there,I get A unit replacement)this can be extended to 5 years too!!...WHOOOOOOhooooooooooooo!!! AfterThoughts: a)lesser response time on Ultrasharp 2009W is not an issue for me,,basically bcoz It's 5ms(black/white) while the SP2008WFP measures 2ms in terms of Gray to Gray giving it a bit of edge! Iam totally enthralled with the Bright Pixel Warranty on the 2009W (dunno,,if it covers Dead Pixel too???) but then i would miss the SP2008WFP's 2MP Webcam !!! c)cost difference is not an issue....!!! And is it worth buying brand new or can i get away with helping the GI Trading Post economy? 2. Sega Rally Revo on the 360, is it available anywhere in stores (Mumbai), if so, how much and is it worth buying? Reason i ask is because, PA is selling it for around Rs. 1055. Thanks. 1. It is available in stores it was 2510 lat time i checked. People selling it for 800-1000 bucks on the trading post...pick it from trading post. 2. Dont take this in a wrong way but you should have bought a ps3 in case you bought a pro 360 for around 25k. The 360 is good but the ps3 is better(atleast for the future) I agree that 360 products are cheaper than those of the ps3 and i just dont like that but the ps3 is the thing! What you do is open up WMP and enable sharing to the 360. Then all the files your WMP has in its library are there on your 360 as well. And the 360 will play all Divx videos off your PC. And of course MP3 as well. Havent tested Mp4 playback but I think that should be fine. Havent tested playback from a DVD but its pointless burning stuff to a disk IF you can stream. Somebody Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 i'm planning to buy an lcd tv costing around 30k. so i'm basically looking at 26" LCDs i found an LG 26" and a Samsung 26". both of them have hdmi ports and i cant afford to buy a sony one or a full HD LCD coz they are going to be out of my budget The LG 26" one has a contrast ratio of 15k:1 whereas the samsung has only 5k:1. Somebody Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 ok.. but i might have to take my ps3 to the store and check right ? ... does the contrast ratio really matter that much ?? and the LG has Component : 720p/1080i/1080p and HDMI : 720p/1080i/1080p and both the screens have Resolution = 1366 x 768. does that mean i can play on 1080p too ?
