MarketTantrik
Guys im stuck, please help me out I'm buying the orange box for the 360 along with another game from play-asia. Now the problem is that i cannot decide as to which one to buy from the following :- 1.Mass Effect 2.Assassins Creed 3.Blacksite ( i know it has got pathetic reviews but i still want to play it since the demo was cool) Also, i have the option of saving mass effect and assassins creed for later since one of my packages is prolly stuck with the customs and play asia are gonna provide me a coupon of around $50 soon. Without a doubt Mass Effect. If you want a gaming experience that will truly give you a "Happy New Year", this is it.

tech_wreck
Hey folks, I'm a PS2/PC gamer who has been lurking around the forums for a bit. Just wanted to get a bit of advice...I've a cousin coming over from the States and I'm planning on asking him to get a console for me. Now, the dilemma is, which one to get, XBox 360 or a PS3? Frankly, had I been buying in India I would have gone in for a 360 but the RROD/No warranty is worrying me....so I'm thinking of getting a PS3. I can get the 360 from here, later on. Should I really care about the RROD? Thanks.
Fire Wolf
Yes, you should. If you really want to go for an out of region console, go for the PS3 (region free games as well). But if your PS3 goes wrong then Sony won't fix it (failure rate is very low but still is).

MarketTantrik
@GreyPilgrim: You should be worried about the RRoD. If you are gonna be in India permanently, buy the X360 from here and NOT from the U.S. The PS3 has been relatively trouble free so far, but some members have been complaining about the PS3 "Spin of Death" after upgrading to the latest 2.01 firnware. The PS3 stops reading Blu Ray discs completely although other functions work properly. The problem is that Sony's Indian service centres will not even touch an out-of-region console (same case with the PSP as well). On the other hand, many members have been using U.S. or H.K. PS3s for nearly a year without any problems. Bottom Line: If you have to bring a console from the States, make it a PS3 or a Wii and certainly NOT the X360. vinitwins
having local warranty and support is imperative for the x360 - and i think m$ has further dropped prices, so importing one from abroad makes very little sense (unless you have the infrastructure to ship/send it back to the US if it breaks down) ps3 games are more expensive, but you can import them without worrying about region locking (although most 360 publishers save EA have shifted to releasing region free games as well), PSN is free and you get a BR player (a godsend if you have a LCD/HDTV) if online gaming is a deal maker/breaker for you, then your mind is already made up - buy a 360! another thing to consider is that if you havent played any next-gen games on either platform before, then the 360 would be a better choice, only because it has a stronger library of existing games which you can borrow or purchase second hand. Does it need any special contollers or would any USB mic work? mics come packed in with the game i would have bought singstar but due to the small library of songs i haven't bought it. I hope they release the next singstar version with update facility so ppl can just download and get new songs. vinitwins
a jumper setting? maybe the 360 drive needs to be pre-formatted with the OS/file system? V
MarketTantrik
The 360's drive is not user replaceable. This is a well documented and heavily criticized fact.
