Warp 10! Posted December 30, 2009 Report Share Posted December 30, 2009 Hullo, people. Just bought an Onkyo S3200 home theatre. Wanna use my inspiron 1525 laptop (with HDMI) to play videos via the home theatre. The problem is that the HT has HDMI pass through & as a result both audio & video pass to TV. Obviously, i want the sound to come through the HT. So, i have to connect the laptop with the AV reciever via an optical cable right? Trouble is that my laptop does not have optical sound output, so i will have to buy an external sound card for the laptop right? The ones that work via USB or ExpressCard. I need some advice , I checked my CC bill for last month and I found that the conversion rate used for $ to Rs conversion (for my Valve games purchases) used was 48.03 -48.70 but then i checked on X-rates the $ value has hovered around 46-46.3 INR , why is there so much discrepancy in the amount charged to me , should I raise a dispute or is there something going which I am not aware of . Nah you're just wasting your time, and there are conversion fees the bank charges as well. Its not like you buy something for $10 and pay Rs 460 or so. There is a %age the bank charges. Has to have good build quality cause it will see a lot of wear and tear. Thinking about getting the Soundmagic PL30. Any thoughts? Go buy it blindly .. they are the best IEMs under 1500 price range, nothing even comes close in terms of soundstage and overall Sound Quality .Only thing they lack in is a bit of bass , but nothing that can be fixed by fiddling with EQ . Best bet in that budget. i am also considering to get earphones....do you think the sound is good enough of PL30's to hear distinct footsteps of enemies on MW2 (i also use earphones to play xbox)? i used a friends creative 630, and it was pretty good enough and was going to get that, now I am considering PL30 too...
