Man In The Box
I have an HTC phone. There is a feature that my own phone number is displayed on top of the contact list. This feature is there in the IPHONE as well. Â The thing is that my own phone number is not displayed correclty. Â My number is 9**00***** but it is displayed as 9**10***** Â Also, I cannnot manually change my own number as that option is not there. Maybe because the information is received by the SIM card I guess. Â So can anyone tell me what the problem is? Is it with my phone or my sim card? And has anyone faced such a problem before? I checked this with one of my friends in Kolkata and he also has had the same issue. Â Although this is not at all any big problem but I would still like to know how to solve this issue. lastAvenger
I am assuming you didn't buy this phone from India ? Â If yes you bought this from abroad, then this is perfectly alrite as its following the country's regional settings from which it was bought. Also your phone number is read from the sim card. Â For Example, my iphone used to display (9**)******* . After changing it to India [ from the settings ofcourse ], its now 9********** Â If no you bought this from India, try searching for some registry hack or somewhere in the settings to change this to India Edited January 10, 2008 by lastAvenger

lastAvenger
Again uk's regional settings is pretty similar to India's. US's is not same as India's

Man In The Box
I got my HTC touch phone from India, officially. And this mobile number is also 10 digit. There is only a mistake of 1 digit between my phone number and the phone number displayed.  My number xxx000xxxx  Number Displayed xxx100xxx  So there is only a '1' instead of a '0'  This same number was displayed in my iphone also. Funny thing is that this number xxx100xxx is of my friend only and I have never inserted her simcard into my own phone. I wonder how all this happened - in the iphone and in this phone too.  Any idea what the problem is?

khanak
I need some help with my laptop  I always reinstall windows when I get a new laptop to get rid of all the bloatware and in the process lose out on the DVD software. All the other software is there on the product support page but not tht DVD software. Does anyone know any good free dvd player or dvd decoder for XP.  Thanks
MarketTantrik
Use VLC Player if you are okay with a standalone player. If you want a decoder for WMP, use K-lite codec pack. It comes with the Cyberlink DVD decoder.

1:4 is the ratio of download speed to upload speed. If you go for a 512Kbps plan on a 1:4 ratio, your download speed will theoretically be 512Kbps while your upload speed will be 1/4th of 512K i.e 128Kbps.  I recommend Tata Indicom's normal broadband 512Kbps unlimited plan. I use it myself and is excellent for online gaming because it has good upload bandwidth (an important factor in gaming). it costs INR 1850/- a month + service tax.
