Fire Wolf
If I put a video on a usb drive, can I view it through my 360?
MarketTantrik
If I put a video on a usb drive, can I view it through my 360? Yup. provided the video is in one of the supported formats and the drive is FAT32 formatted.
Fire Wolf
Thanks MT. N00b question, but what is FAT32 formatted? It will actually be a 4Gig Memory Stick, put on a USB converter. Also, is .asf a supported file format?
L33TWiZaRd
Very simple. just plug the usb drive to your pc. right click on removable drive and click on format select file system as fat32 and the do a quick format. Or else you simply select properties of the removable drive and the new pop-up window will show the file system. If you can't understand any of this, then i guess you could just put a file on the usb drive and check for yourself

reaper
^^ i have an UPS attached to my Xbox 360 and my PS3.
MarketTantrik
@Brandy: Like I told you earlier, I still think you have some critical problem with the power supply setup in your entertainment centre, for your X360 record is abnormally abysmal. Try to use a dedicated mains for your console and see if that helps.
amul_capri
^^ i have an UPS attached to my Xbox 360 and my PS3. I realised I needed one yday, when the power went off for 5 secs. I was on my PS3. And it could only get worse as summer draws near (Maan, thinking about summer is making me sick! Pretty much sure we are going to have a record max temp .in Mumbai this Apr/May, just like the minimum we had day before)

MarketTantrik
The light may turn green, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the voltage / ampereage is stable. I am serious about my suspicions that your console is not receiving "clean" power.
MadridistaLove
k den i havta use a extension-wid-a-fuse to reach to a dedicated power outlet....! i hope extensions r fine and supply enuf power to da console??......and i WILL just plug my CONSOLE to da extension, nothin else! guess will get a stabalizer too! Tyler
So which version of the PS3 should I buy? My options are... 40GB with Warranty + No reports of SOD (yet) + Price - No b/c 60GB with Warranty + B/C + Best VFM among all the models - Lots of SOD reports - Discontinued 80GB - OOR without warranty + Price + B/C + BR movies bought from the US will work - OOR so will have to look for OOR PS2 games and BR movies - No warranty - Discontinued I am really looking for b/c and so far the best option was the 60GB version, but then again all these reports of failure are scaring me. Besides it seems that Sony is phasing out b/c with the newer SKUs. I don't want to buy a new PS2 either. My setup is already crowded, there's barely any room for the PS3 itself! MarketTantrik
So which version of the PS3 should I buy? I suggest waiting a bit till the big name titles like MGS4 come out. There's bound to be some bundles and possibly even new SKUs. either way they will offer better VFM. And definitely buy a U.S. or a Region A console. BR movie titles come fast and thick in Region A. reaper
^^ buy a 40 GB one and buy a PS2 (second hand if possible) (25 k + another 7k for the PS2) also as far as i know, none of the PAL PS3s have experienced SOD till date so a PAL 60 GB should do fine ... (30k for the 60 gb PS3) please dont go for OOR consoles ...
