^^I'm also planning to buy a new pc probably by the end of this month with an 8800gt 512mb xxx edition.

If your budget is around rs 20,000 then you'll have to settle for the 8800GT or 8800GTS series. The prices currently are approx (incl tax):

8800GT 512mb Alpha Dog edition -> Rs. 14300

8800GT 512mb Extreme Edition -> Rs. 15000-16000 (not sure)

8800GT 512mb XXX Edition -> Rs. 17400 (i'm getting his card since it's overclocked and even operates at a higher clock rate by default)

8800GTS Alpha Dog -> Rs. 21000

8800GTS XXX -> Rs. 22000

I wanted to get the 8800GTX card but it's over my budget and i think it retails anywhere between rs. 25000 - 28000.

But before you go out and purchase any of these cards get a good PSU as they require a lot of juice. I'm planning to get the Corsair TX 750W.

P.S. Check the prices at your local shop

I think it was LG. You just need a monitor that supports HDCP over DVI and VGA and has a good refresh rate.

yeah, im trying not to get into getting a ps3 vga cable crap.... heard they are not that usefull and can even damage the monitor and ps3... just hdmi or what eva. just something to game on.

Hey Amit, i'm getting the Dell 22" monitor as well as i don't want to go through the hassle of cables and monitor ratio and what not..I've searched on the net about this monitor and a lot of people were pleased with the way it handled the PS3 through the hdmi port and also maintained the monitor ratio and resolution when using VGA for the 360 as well. Will have to contact Dell and check if the prices have come down or not.

^ Get a 8800GTS 512 MB (G92) card if that fits in your budget or get the 8800GT (best price/performance ratio) as MightySkate suggested. You'll need a 600W PSU to be comfortable, a 400W just won't cut it. Your motherboard should be fine for now.

Vista is very very slow and the only reason you should look at it is if you're planning to get the 64 bit version. Also read this on why 4GB RAM on a 32 bit OS is a little bit of a waste.

^^Agreed. But the problem with x64 as we all know is the forced drivers signing. Big s/w names like Nero/Norton and many others can pass the compatibility test but smaller ones will not work unless the forced drivers option is manually disabled.

Guys!

I am looking to buy a few Blu-ray movies from Secondspin.com

I have selected Planet Earth which will cost me about 2600bucks with shipping and 300 too. My PS3 region would be "Region C"

They haven't mentioned any regions on the bluray pages :s

So is there any way of determining it ??

hmm Amazon is selling it for 2680Rs with free shipping but i can't seem to find the damn region on it :/

Apparently its gonna play on all Regions so much of me being n00by lol
