MS playing some 4D chess

Problem is that MS isnt ready to accept they need to move beyond Halo Gears Forza to push units. Power alone wont do sh*t for them.

Having tried these 3 games on PC, no doubt these are pretty good games, but they seriously need to add some AAA variety to the first party lineup.

Hopefully some new IPs from them this gen.

Worst part is none of Halo/Gears/Forza are even GOTY material anymore. Horizon series is watered down to maximum casual which gets super boring if you are looking for even 10% challenge. Gears 5 already feels dead and campaign wasn't great either. It was just...yeah.

Both the games have boring and mind numbing grind as well. It's not even fun. MS selling points is now GamePass and nothing else. If you have a decent PC from 5 years ago, you have 0 reason to buy Xbox. Just stick with PlayStation; at least they got some exclusive and variety.

Don't think so. PS4's ram was upgraded days before the official reveal. AFAIK No one even had the upgraded devkits when the specs were announced

I'm not sure how much console gamers care about specs or buy consoles based on specs of the device.

Its more about familiarity of the controller and the exclusive games.

Better specs will not get any sales, unless its incredibly powerful which is highly unlikely

CPU, GPU and type of memory (GDDR6) is pretty much locked in according to "insiders". They'll play around with RAM, storage size and "secret sauce" until reveal.

This. A lot of people were super excited for the One X based looking at the specs. With not many exclusives and the PS4 Pro punching above its weight in many cases, most people would be even more wary of Scarlet this time around IMO.

Unless Sony screws up bad, they have the next generation in their hands.

Jason Schrier's comment on Era

"Not sure if the "trying to surprise Sony" part is quite right -- common sense would suggest that, like with the Xbox One, Microsoft is just running behind schedule and will launch pretty hot -- but I've talked to a few third-party developers who said they were frustrated by the lack of info on Scarlett, especially compared to Prospero."

Also Prospero is a stupid codename.

Lockhart is back from the dead according to rumours ?. That's how they will surprise Sony ?

Dont know how smart that is, only way it makes any sense is if it's 300$ with the same cpu as Scarlett. Targeted at causal/game pass users.
