That is a bad take. EA has been a great place to work overall and you pretty much never hear these shitty employees or higher rep behaviour. Multiple layoffs and closures happen everywhere. It's not free to run a studio while not making anything.

As for Hennig, EA didn't fire her. The negotiations didn't work for both parties after the studio was closed and she left to form her own studio. As for the Star Wars game, EA ended up making Jedi: Fallen Order which was very successful without Hennig.

What a reach..

It really is. We are comparing standard company layoffs with sexual harassment/misconduct now.

The suit also points to a female Activision employee who took her own life while on a company trip with her male supervisor. The employee had been subjected to intense sexual harassment prior to her death, including having nude photos passed around at a company holiday party, the complaint says.

Jeez.

How do you arrive at the conclusion that EA is a great place to work at? EA kills off franchise and projects at the snap of their fingers making of years of hard work meaningless and the IP in EA’s control. Furthermore that there are several customer review sources that EA is one of the worst companies in customer satisfaction.

As for social media, it is often used as evidence whether it is ten years old or yesterday. Hence it is a major cause of concern for employers.

You can’t judge the work culture by the type of products they put out.

Customer satisfaction is not the same as employee work-life balance.

A company like Apple (100% customer satisfaction) has a bad reputation when it comes to work culture.

This has absolutely nothing to do with how EA is as a company for employees

To counter your argument, when a studio is killed, as long as the employees don't get laid off, things are fine. It would be a bummer to see someone's work go to waste, but that doesn't mean the workplace is inherently toxic or that the employee was not valued.

To be honest, EA's reliance on games as a service could be a reason why they are doing better. It's just a conjecture from my end, but services mean a steadier stream of income, better pipeline revenue and more incentives to keep your employees around. The success of a studio is no longer tied to the success of a particular game.

Also, working in a toxic workplace or being laid off may be bad but not comparable to being molested at work. That's like a different dimension of sh*t.

But also, at this point, I kinda feel that the organisations not being reported on just have skeletons in the closet not known yet. This sh*t is just too widespread to be just concentrated to a few studios especially now when even Bill Gates was outed as a creep.

Exactly my point I am trying to make.

Ea killing off franchises is a business decision.

Molesting women at work is not acceptable under any circumstances.

Suppose directors from your fav game company start molesting women employees after releasing some genre defining title.

Would that be acceptable ?

You’re absolutely right but why is it only women. Not in this case but men and LBGTQ are  also bullied and molested. Someone like Brendan Fraser or Robin Williams. Male molested cases are not heard as much as women.

Basically what I am saying that there are more skeletons lurking around in any industry not just EA waiting to be open from the closet.

Yes absolutely. Men are affected too.

I imagine same thing would happen with FH4 at some point as well.

Next year I believe. All Forza titles have a 4 year sale period basis the contracts negotiated with car manufacturers.

If you own any DLC then Microsoft is sending out the game code for free so that you can continue playing it after it get's delisted. If you have it purchased in your library then it's there to stay.

They basically can't sell the game after their contract period expires.

I think if you delete it, it will be gone. Same way as if your disc is scratched or lost, its gone.
