Skyrim Special Edition

Xbox 1st party game runs better on PS5 :giggle:

Pick any excuse from below:

1) Tools are still new, wait and watch. We will optimize.

2) Sony paid money to botch Xbox version.

3) Better games are coming, we have 18 studios bro.

4) Blaah blaaah blaaah Gamepass blaah blaah blaaah MoSht Poberrrrfulllll CONsol(ation)

Frame rate and resolution wars are the worst.

There practically would have been no war regarding this aspect if Xbox marketing hadn’t falsely claimed the power advantage leading up to the launch.

The shills & fanboys even projected things like PS5 won’t be able to go anywhere near the Resolution to FPS ratio of SX ,let alone outright exchange wins like it actually turned out to be.

You have only them to blame for this particular topic of embarrassment.

This is not true.

When a competent studio like id Software optimises, Series X take the lead.

Skyrim cannot be used as a measure of power. Its a ps360 game. Can be any reason why they are leaving performance on table.

When SX takes lead, the studio is competent. Ok. So, when SX doesn't take the lead that studio is incompetent?

You mean to say all other studios so far were incompetent?!?

Also which ID game took the lead on SX?!?

Last I checked Doom Eternal took a trade of worse texture mapping & reflections to take the advantage of Resolution in FPS mode.

Trade offs aren’t really a win!!

BF2042 has better resolution on PS5 but has worse reflections.
you can’t really call that a win.

All studios are competent.

id Software is just known to push hardware to limits.

Doom Eternal has resolution advantage on Series X. It uses variable rate shading, a feature of next gen architecture of series consoles that allows for parts of frame to have lower resolution, thereby saving processing power.

This feature is absent on PS5.

actually something is really botched up about this as even ps4 pro performed better than X1X when we clearly know X1X is much more powerful

same legacy code being carried forward with ps5 and xsx

Watching the 3rd party performance difference between two platforms for a year, the FUD that was spread by Xbox insiders before PS5 launch really aged like milk.

Imagine putting these people on the pedestal as industry insiders and using them as your gaming news source

About f**ckin time!!

Even M$ knew all along (before Bethesda acquisition) that this guy has done nothing for almost a decade except stress on BC BC BC.

They literally had to give away billions of dollars to keep business afloat.
I think now someone with streaming business know how will run the show rather than someone with console roots

but it’ll lead to more mudslinging so let it be :giggle:

before consoles launch, any reasonable gamer (who isn't a hardware dev and really knows stuff) would say that one with higher sustained clock would be better than lower variable clock

Still noticeably PS5 performance if not worse is on par with XSX. Maybe future games turn out different but see no indication from devs or either MS that this will be the case.

Maybe someone who has zero clue how PC GPUs and CPUs work will say that. A 3080 runs at less than 20% its peak clock when the PC is used for web browsing or listening to music. These guys figured out a long time ago that changing frequencies based on workload is the most efficient way of doing things.

XSS is identical to big brothers only except running at 1440p - same effects, same framerate

solid 1440p60 performance

this is how a competent dev pulls performance out of a console like XSS

and on 120fps it’s a mixed bag with both bigger consoles getting the upper hand in different scenarios - indeterminate

Same guys were promoting that tweet that said Valhalla would be 4K60fps on XSX only and PS5 wouldn't be able to do that. We all know how that turned out  Ubi fixed the screen tear later, by reducing resolution even further.

How do you equate more efficiency to more power? Because “which one’s more powerful?” that’s the question.

PCs are super inefficient compared to consoles. Consoles are very efficient while PCs brute force their way to performance

Also, Before new consoles launch, more TF was equated to more power and performance as evidenced by xbone vs PS4 and x1x vs pro, so why wouldn’t the same metric be applied on xsx vs ps5 by any reasonable gamer?
