Spent 80b to compete with sony. Speaks volumes....

Lol if they cared about only competing with Sony in console gaming then they would have kept all 1st party games exclusive to console only. Game Pass is their focus and they want it everywhere including PS.

Money isn't only in console gaming. There's a reason Sony games coming to PC as well

Actually no

even this is not enough to say they have beat Sony.

It’s the fact that what’s the point when they can just invest more than half of Sony’s total market value in a single year.

Tmrw it might be EA & day after Sony itself.

What’s even the point.

It’s over dude

I’m shutting shop on console wars.

Just no point.

Though yeah the actuality of whatever is happening needs to be reflected only once M$ actually started getting returns with whatever they have in mind.

Building franchises > buying them out.

Phil Spender might run out of finances at some point of time.

But if sony keeps innovating, they would never run out of greatness.

M$ is not even worried about making money in immediate future.

That’s the scary part.

They can simply rule the whole industry with this sort of mindset.

Its time for you to get a pc or Xbox and get into game pass. Save your money, be smart.

The only way Sony can complete is if they somehow manage to bring Konami, Capcom, Sega under one umbrella, at the very least. Acquiring SE would actually make them extremely formidable in console wars.

This kind of aggregation sucks a*s for gamers, but that's how MS wants to play this game, they are pretty clear about it. If you can't beat your competitor with content, just block out their access.

MS (in)famously assumed they'd own Donkey Kong in the Rare acquisition.

I think maybe they've thought they now own Uncharted and Last of Us this time, as a part of a package with crash bandicoot.

?

This has been posted like 20 times before. And this was clarified later (don't remember the source right now) that an exec made a funny comment on owning DK. It wasn't meant to be serious, but media and fanbois :loser: !

Sony should have started acquiring SE,Capcom,Sega right after successfully PS5 launch.

Ahead while they were in strong foot.

Now their bargaining power would be quite low.

Even then it would have hardly mattered.
