Lmao.

All of Halo’s up until 5 were marketed & advertised as all time Xbox exclusives too

Wonder why MCC showed up on PC years down the line.

The guy who runs the twitter handle and even top guys in Insomniac are probably not told about these changes in advance so they stick with whatever script they are provided.

So no point asking these guys, ask Jimbo :P

5 years is a sh*t ton time dude.
Sticking it upto Poor Insomniac PR for that is really pathetic & sickening.

Will the Xbox showcase have any games releasing this year ?

Let me just check the crystal ball. :|

Nobody really knows. They've managed to keep the details to themselves this time around. Maybe Scorn?

Wish they fix the gears 1 remake( it's called a remaster but graphics improved alot ) on PC, FPS is f**ked on that since a certain windows 10 update.

Get the feeling this time it will be different (not trolling), unlike their usual showcases when they kept saying 'this will be the best ever' year after year, this time around its 'concentrating more on gameplay' and 'narratives will be changed'. Kinda sounds like they're acknowledging the problems and targeting those. Reasons to be optimistic.

If they don't give gameplay with firm release dates, Lord Phil can go f**k himself. Enough with this nonsense.

They gave firm release dates before and look what happened

True. Delays are inevitable regardless of the parent company but when it comes to MS, they f**k up more than anyone else. Their processes aren't as tight as Sony/Nintendo. They need to make gigantic improvements before they get there.

@Krazyniks From a purely theoretical standpoint, the only scenario i can think of where a remake is a net positive is where a gamer is spending extra money on a remake.

Eg:- If say, you'd normally spend 5000 rupees on games in a year, you'd be happy to spend an extra 2,000 on a remake. Otherwise, a remake is only taking money and attention away from a new IP.

This works on a market level but on a company level obviously a company might end up making more money through the remake.

It's a good way to derisk game development but I feel the industry is already getting very risk averse with non stop sequels and few new IPs. Remakes are a net negative from that standpoint imo.

Well there's no denying that proper remakes like RE4 remake do take away money and attention from a new IP .

And No i don't think people would spend more than their budget for a remake.  Even if they have the money - most won't have the time . Hence net purchase would stay the same.

Even for a big company like Capcom who most likely would have another team working on RE9 - Could they have used the resources ( working on RE4 remake)  in a new IP - Absolutely yes.

But would that new IP be successful is something no one knows. Cause like you said Companies are risk averse these days and hence make  sequels with very few new IP's . And can't really blame them either. The investors and board members only care about making money so yeah company management will focus resources on which they feel confident about making money. Sequels or remakes ( where they feel they have a solid fanbase willing to pay ) .

So yeah from that standpoint remakes can be net negative.

And companies should be very selective about Remakes - only those games where there's a big enough fanbase to justify the remake .Also remakes should be made with proper attention like a new game otherwise fanbase would be disappointed. Prince of Persia SOT Remake is a perfect example - Glad Ubisoft handed over it's production to Ubisoft Montreal .

I'm ok with delays since that's pretty much become the norm now but hyping people up for something that won't come out for half a decade is just too much. If something is going to come out in 2025 then,

1. Just don't show it

2. If you're going to show it, show gameplay and tell its going to come in 2025.

It's either Lord Phail lying outright to generate hype and grab a few towa of powa sales and GP subs.

Or Lord Phail's underlings lie to him or over promise and under deliver.

In any case people  buy the towa of powa for GP, not exclusives, so as a stop gap he can ask Satya to write a few cheques till they have some big exclusive to show off like starfield.
