Any cd quality signal has way too much data that is unheard normally.

Say a drum player is recording with mics just CMs away from drum.

Sound that gets recorded has explosive intensity. How sound wave travels on drum skin. That gets recorded.

On top of that, faint ambient sounds, sometimes vehicles travelling outside recording studio.

All this data gets lost by normal data and signal transmission. A good quality dac/amp provides most pristine path possible, so all this data is preserved and reaches headphones.

Getting usuable volume and bass is part of the equation.

Thanks

speaking of differences, here’s what I understand - amp/dacs are best used with high impedance, low sensitivity headphones. Such headphones don’t reach good volume levels directly with say mobile phones and other low power output audio sources. Mids and highs may be fine without amp/dacs but the lows or bass on such headphones really need an amp/dac for the bass to have full body and be impactful. Also, amp/dacs clean up the audio stream in case there’s noise, interference etc

Is my understanding correct? Is there any other major difference that you find that the amp/dacs make?

Apart from that, amp/ dac can provide certain colour to the hp sound i.e the sound can be on neutral or warm or bright. They can also balance out if you don’t like the sound signature of your hp but want to change it.

Looks like Spencer's tryst with CGI is not over yet.

I won't be surprised if Infinite turns out to be a CGI esque live action movie than an actual game.

They tried to fool us with the Forza horizon reveal in June as well.

welcome back ?

Still no label in the trailer whether it’s PC or SX footage.

Atleast the first outing was specific about it being PC representation of SX.

Forza Horizon 5 along with Stalker reveal footages were big foolers as evident on Forza H5 previews.

Any recommendations for a (cheap) DAC/AMP combo to power the HD560S (120Ω)?

I'm using SMSL SD 793 with my HD598s which cost me about 6k with shipping from US back in 2017. It has both optical and co-axial inputs which you rarely find in a DAC. No USB input though.

Thanks! I'll look into this one as well. I'm currently looking at Fiio E10K . It's quite an old amp but it should do the job. It's available in India though it costs more than it should be.

Xbox has absolute sh*t support for USB audio (outside of the proprietary Astro MixAmp etc.) so I'll also need to get an HDMI audio extractor to get these amps to work. Have made some progress there.

Anyone has any recommendations for an HDMI 2.0 audio extractor?

Fiio gear is good. E10 has no battery and is usb powered so should last you very very long.

Xbox support for usb audio is sh*t. They took out optical out for this gen, least they can do is offer full usb audio support.

Just make sure HDMI audio extractor has 4k 60p support. I am not using it and instead have hps plugged directly into the monitor. For gaming I find it to be adequate quality.
