I have an analogy too.

All assumed numbers, but say you bought an iPhone 12 in 2020 on discount for say INR. 50,000 instead of mrp of 75,000

In 2021 you want to upgrade to iPhone 13 in exchange of the iPhone 12, what would the difference to be paid be?

Scenario 1 :

Cost of iPhone 13 (75k) - exchange value of iPhone 12 (40k) + Discount availed originally (25k) = 60,000

Or

Scenario 2 :

Cost of iPhone 13 (75k) - exchange value of iPhone 12 (40k) = 35,000

You should have come up with a langar analogy

That is actually one of the reasons why some of the things are sounding unethical to ppl….which wouldn’t have otherwise.

PS+Extra is offering good content for ₹400 a month.

Them offering discounts today at Launch or Retrospective basis is practically the same thing.

As 90% of the user base is already on discounted subs.

Only if they had mentioned or outlined this fact at announcement ppl would have understood & accepted this fact.

Piss poor pathetic planning to get hopes & hypes up & even pushing ppl towards more discounted stack ups.

Xbox GP handle: but but but...we're giving away indies and third party games, you shouldn't ask for first party titles and definitely not leave GP because of it. Be happy with what we give and don't criticise us!!

They can say something like "if you want first party games, get a PS5 or a Switch or something ugh!"

Ppl don’t like to believe this but just as 90% of PSplus user base is discounted stack.

Same is with GamesPass…..just that the discount is on extreme levels. (& no one was asked to forfeit either for obvious reasons)

So obviously no one is leaving anything….it’s just vocal drama on Twitter from both sides.

Ya they could have mentioned that before by saying “suck it losers, we want our money back..” ?

I am glad they didn’t ask for interest on the discount amount ??

Back in the olden days of the xbone always on VCR, Don Mattrick said that those who want an offline console can get an X360
So anything is possible

It's the chutzpah that comes with dominating the market. Tables have turned since then, story is still the same.

Yep I’m sure it does to you

Let’s bring in microwave oven & other hardware analogy in software based catalogue service comparison.

As they also lose value over time like hardware does.

Not nearly.

Owned Disc DRM is not even in leagues with asking apt money for apt content.
(with added piss poor planning)

The latter is blasphemous.

Xbox one proposed sharing and selling of digital games.

You decide if it was good or bad now that we are moving towards all digital future.
