What are you smoking dude ? Its not about spending power in everything .

Sony has the larger user base so for eg.

if sony pay Rs 10 for an exclusive it can easily recover that money back .

on the other hand xbox has to be rs 20-30 for the same game and is never going to recover that money back .

Therefore its much better for them to buy studios to make games in house rather than paying exorbitant amounts to 3rd party where there is no quality control. We all know what happened in the xbox one generation when there were cancellations and game quality suffered with 3rd party studios.

You’re talking like Xbox didn’t have these 3P deals during 360 and Xbox one eras? Even when their sales were tanking during Xbox one, they still had TR

Reality is they can easily do what Sony is doing with that kind of money

Been 3 generations and a trillion dollar company still needs to buy the biggest publisher in the market to be competitive and here we have people making excuses for the 'underdog'

Ok, that's fair assessment I think.

However, with studios, MS can effectively keep buying until there aren't competitors left thanks to.... It's spending power.

Both Sony and MS had their shot, arguably on equal footing from PS360 Era. That was followed by one making horrible decisions and the other right, both helped Sony.

The state MS gaming is in is consequences to their own decisions, Sony cannot compete against a trillion dollar company when it comes to buying studios/publishers, so is it really that hard to believe they're fighting tooth and nail to hold on to their position?

Remember, Xbox can fail another 2 generations and MS will be fine. PS brings Sonys highest revenue if I'm not mistaken, they lose one generation and Sony is brought to it's knees.

Let’s call a spade a spade

When Sony wanted to compete with nintendo they didnt have to buy EA. When Sony lost market share to Xbox in the 360 Era they got better by making great games in order to compete and ended up with nearly equal life time sales to close the era. They don’t have the means to BUY big publishers so they rose to the occasion and worked with their own first party studios to churn out great games

Xbox has failed at 1st party content. They need Microsoft to buy Activision due to their failure.

Sony actually puts efforts in Europe with marketing, local deals, sponsorships, language localization with every single freaking country including the Slavs. Xbox doesn't give a sh*t about Europe. Their failure is entirely their own thing. We know this because this isn't how Europe was during X360.

Duh.. of course it’s their own fault.. everyone know the failure of xbox one gen..

that’s what they are trying to correct now by providing more games, gamepass etc..

If money was the only thing google plus would be number one social media network?

sony isn’t some shitty old company.. it’s dominant player in gaming space with iconic games.. it just bought destiny and gazillion other studios… posting record numbers and profits.. lulz at those trying to paint it as underdog ??

You’re interpreting it wrong. Xbox factually has more studios now and 0 games. My sense is it’s not their strength to make games or IPs from scratch.

Activision built COD and got it to where it is today and MS just wants an easy way into competing

You guys are salty as f**k

Its a business move at the end of the day and hopefully sony will make some soon to make you happy.

If we are salty, then ya'll are just as salty and I'm fine with that ?

As for business move (this I can agree with instead of that coke fueled 'underdog' doing good for consumers argument) , same applies to Sony's decision to fight back, a business move :D

Exactly. Say it how it is and just move on. Instead of peddling nonsense and then calling others salty just because they called you out for your stupid comments

What i don't understand is why people here who are consumers but act as fanboys.

As a consumer MS buying Activision benefits PS users too . Sony will have to innovate or offer better deals to it's existing customers to keep them . Case in point new PS Plus service ( launched after Gamepass became popular)

And it's not like COD is going away from PS . MS offered 10 year deal to Sony for keeping COD on its platform . So 20/30% of their audience won't just switch to Xbox as they know COD will be available for long time. And even if some do - don't you think Sony will have to offer something more to retain their existing customers. So who benefits in the end - Customers.

If MS fails then sure fanboys can laugh but the consumers will lose as then Sony will be free to do how it pleases and carry on with its monopolistic practices.
