Also, it’s interesting how MS has not mentioned their subscription count in the longest time. When they were giving it away for a $ or in snacks, the No was at 25M.

 

The last I heard, it has fallen to 18M.

 

I guess they’re not really gaining subscribers

Ya when netflix started blockbluster laughed at their business model too ,nobody knows what will happen in another 10 years.

 

So far so good ,i am happy and saving money so dont really care. It really is on MS where they can take take this sub ,if it continues to grow it means we are eating good but if it dies atleast i made full use of it.

Also last year was a big let down so doubt they grew much.

saving money at the cost of what?  Didn’t MS churn out more games when they charged you for it? The 360 era, Xbox one launch. Now what? It’s half baked games or indies that need a platform.   The same has happened with cod. Since they stopped charging you for DLC, they’ve slowed down their dlc drops / giving remakes of old maps. This is the trade off that one can expect being on a sub / being a GAAS title - drip content

Netflix model was never Day 1 model.

 

Quite foolish mistake ppl make when they compare the Netflix Vs Blockbuster scenario.

 

 

Netflix overtook Blockbuster purely because it was moving ahead with technology.

Netflix never could & still can’t compete with theateres.

 

f**k even Disney after gobbling up Marvel,Lucas,Fox & what not still is not foolish enough to release AAA blockbuster movies direct to it’s service even at an unimaginably high price.

 

 

Some things are just stupid,foolish & unsustainable.

 

The game plan in GamesPass’s case is to drive the competition out of the market & it quite visibly even succeeded once Stadia left.

 

Ultimate goal is to drive Playstation,Steam & Nintendo out to.

Apart from redfall all 1st party games released this generation have been rated really really well. I am not even counting the 3rd party day one games . There have been some let downs though from 3rd party though.

What was sony’s games plan last generation? Didnt they want to do the same to xbox with all the money hats ?

 

Using their market dominance to keep games off of gamespass this generation? If you think sony keeps the competition healthy then you are mistaken.

Also if the ABK deal passes games will be on ps and other platforms so there is nothing to worry about. Ms is spending 70 billion obviously so you cant really complain about GP releases , ms has promised abk games on ps subs too if they are ready to spend.

 

The only reason ponies complain is because sony arent putting the games day 1 and you have to spend full money .I see the excitement when ps plus additions are announced even if they are old games.

Minecraft legends(available on PS day1) 

Redfall(glad it’s not available on PS)

 

If one considers this mixed & matched on convenience line up something to boast about where most aren’t even exclusive or in some cases not even available on Xbox the console for the longest period due to being in post production stage at the time of acquisition.

You are right. People who work in the game industry have to figure out a lot of things themselves. But consumers also have responsibility. Everytime a company does something predatory or releases a basic af game, there's always an argument that they get away with it cuz customers allow them to. They just act like mindless consumers and force other devs to use the same tactics cuz everyone's gotta earn. And then everyone's like "Games aren't what they used to be anymore"

 

It all starts with consumers. Period.

 

And my concern isn't fake. Nor am I interested in console wars. I have problems with Sony too.

Let’s be honest, the only reason gamepass exists is because Xbox knew they can’t match sony on quality. This was their knight in shining armour- offer 1000s of mid games on a sub. It will always attract the price conscious consumer.  Throw in 1-2 good games in a sea of average to poor games.
